new idea for the forum

i was thinking about this alot the past few days, and since we finaly got some comps going, how about we do a forum project? a forum project is basically when everyone one the forum builds the same car and do what ever they want to it, like say we all decide to build a civic, or a riviera, a persone coulkd go nuts on it and doo anything they want, and in he end we can post pics and compare eachothers crazy creations.
hows this sound?

I am up for that. It would have to be a kit that everybody can get. Aoshima and Fujimi kits may be tough to get.

my walmart doesnt even have revell ITRs any more

Who says it has to be the same manufacturer? Several manufacturers make the Integra.

Pick a subject made by several manufacturers or pick a style (mini-vans, hatchbacks, etc.).

How about old school (510, early Celica, etc).

I don't know. First of all everyone has to get the kit, so it'll have to be something that everyone should have easy access to. Secondly, everyone here builds at different paces and some are already backed up on projects. Personally, it can take me over 1/2 a year to finish a model!

Not saying its a bad idea, just a couple things to consider :)

no1 is forgeting, this doesnt have to be something to start very soon, i just wanted to see if people think its a good idea

OK, it's a good idea. Though one'd get quite tired of seing same models from a lot of members But as a once in a while thing - very much yes! :)

i dont think its that good of an idea because i wouldnt like to see the same car over and over and over....

the point of a forum project is to see what different modeling capabilities we have here, we can see peoples different ideas for the same car, see different ideas and such, like say i make a salt flat racer out of a ITR, and someone makes a monster truck out of one, it just seems cool:)

Tru but a)Some people dont have the money right now for another kit, and b)Some people are all backed up in other kits

BTW still havnt seen a car converted to monster truck, would prob be a fun project tho :P

forum project normally have longgggggg due dates, like 6 months- 1 year so people have time to do alot of other kits,http://www.streetsourcemag.com/ownerprofiles.asp?Model=330&Year search through the pages and there should be some monster trucks for you:D :D

God damn its turning into a catfight in here :D . I think it would be a good idea but we would all need to do a common car model and a car everyone likes, i say we could get Pman or Jay to write alot of common kits on a piece of paper ie "Tamiya Skyline R34" on one piece and "Revell 96 Mustang" something like that and then shuffle em round and randomly pick one out. But as alot of us would only pick the car we would like I think Pman or Jay with their wide liking or different cars etc would be the best bet, also they are mods so they could post it when done in an important thread. Although because some of us may not want to spend the money etc on it at the time we should get an enrolement thread for everyone who wants to participate. Also we should start something like this at the absoloute begining of the next year like 2004, and set a deadline. All those ideas would straighten this all out? Or we could draw the car first then the people who want to make it can enrole in a thread mentioning what car will be built.
