SR20 or KA???

Need help...

Should I go with another KA block or swap in an SR20? I can get a full swap SR20 red top (wires and ecu et al) for about $1500 from my boss at Ab-Flug USA, but I've been reading up on the forums here that the KA has a possible higher potential after being turboed out? Parts to me are easy to come by for either motors, but I wanted to know which motor would be a better investment in the long run... My S14 will be used as a show/demo car for Ab-Flug USA, and I know the SR is the motor for show but after thinking about it... it would proably trip out the judges at the shows staring at a turboed KA :evillaugh

Please let me know, my car has to be ready by early or mid summer...

well since the car is going to be a show car, I dont think the motor matters much.

"but I've been reading up on the forums here that the KA has a possible higher potential after being turboed out?"

once again, if the car is going to be for show then why does it matter which engine has a higher potential?

if it's a strictly show car, then don't "waste" an SR that could be put to good use in a 240 that's going to be racing and using the engine for what it's made for. not that i'm saying your car is a waste, cause that's not what i meant. i just meant that the SR was made to race, and SR's that just sit there on a car show floor aren't being used to their full potential.

We at Ab-Flug USA are partial show car company due to the fact that we sell body kits (hence a demo car is needed...) but Im asking about the motor because of the fact that we also race the cars. I need the right motor cause my KA is on its last stretch of its life. We are planning to make some drift videos (Nor-Cal division) to show off at the shows. Now thats where the motor comes into play, we go both ways on the car... all show and GO! Thats why I need info on which motor I should buy.

And NO, I will not go back to Honda... for those who say use a "Civic" if I wanna do a show car DrEaM On DuDe:flipa: I will not make a show car out of a low and slow... An S14 with a JDM stock setup looks way better than a kitted Honda (u seen one body kit on a Honda, u seen em all... BoRiNg) and the kits for Nissans are way better looking over Hondas, oh and majority of the kits used by Honda people now copy the R33, R34 and S14a's... now why do I wanna buy a low and slow to make it look like something I already have:confused:

If you really want to "trip out" the judges...put a RB engine in it. Id say there are just as many turbo KAs out there as SR20s (im talking about the american scene).

AHHHH.... yes the all might RB... I want to, but I cant afford the sucker. :( maybe in the future... who knows lol

RB long block goes for bout 6K rite?
plus I gotta get a custom drive shaft to handle all the power, and get the proper LSD for it also
and pay the dude to properly drop it in w/ no problems, custom mounting kits....
JEEEEEEEEEEEEEZZZ thats like buying another S14 or an S14a (2 if I can find an old couple with an S14 or S14a hehe:evillaugh )

anyways.... back to the research pages... must figure out which one will benefit me better in the long run.

it doesn't have to be an RB26DETT. there are other RB engines as well, such as the RB20DET (215hp) and RB25DET (250-276hp). and both of those cost less then the 26.
