I would say once a week, although if anyone challenged, I would race them:D

I would also say once a week, you don't want to fuck up the auto transmission if you keep on racing it everyday.

well, as far as racing goes, more than once a twice or week is definitely bad for the car. full launches are very brutal on the transmission and will wear it out quickly. the engine, however, needs to be revved up on a regular based to keep the internals lubed up and this also helps to clean out the injectors

Are you serious? You have to rev the engine daily just to keep the engine running smoothly? Damn!1!!!!!!!!
HAHAHAHHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHHA
That is some very friendly piece of advice
Now everytime I go home or leave the university everyone will know the roar of my engine.

i have a question. do you think it's worse for the car if it's auto? in other words, could you race a 5 speed more often than an auto and maintain similar wear and tear?

As soon as some piss ant starts revving on me in his riced out POS but I don't just race ricers, I race anybody even cars I know that are going to hand me my @$$.

I raced a Vette one day, I was with him up to 30mph (in the rain) after that I was eating exhaust fumes. I love Vettes, the best bang for the buck true American made sportcar in the world.

paonessa, i would say that it probably is worse to race an auto on a regular basis. you don't have control over the connection between the engine and the tranny, so it's harder to manipulate launches without causing damage. also, i would think that a 5 speed would usually be a little stronger than an auto because they are used, for the most part, for racier driving. in addition, an automatic transmission is much more complicated and involves a lot more parts that could potentially wear down from repeated abuse

i see ford escorts at the track. not all the time but somewhat often. and some of those suckers are pulling 12's. if those things can race then a max definitely can. :p

I don't race rice. I've hunted down a couple of IS300s while they were going at it on the freeway. But lately, nobody seem to want a piece of my Max. I think its because I put 20mm wheel spacers (http://images.cardomain.com/installs/189000-189999/189077_50_full.jpg) in the back and now my car looks a lot faster than before. :p Why did Nissan push the Maxima's rear tires that deep into the wheel wells we'll never know. The sentra uses the same rear beam suspension and it doesn't look half as bad.

But I usually just go up and down windy back roads for fun nowadays. Everybody can go fast straight, going fast around turns requires more than a heavy right foot :)

Agreed on that cornering ability, I also smoked a IS300 on the freeway, we were rolling about 70mph and he pulled up next to me and pointed straight ahead, so I shrugged my shoulder to say, "whatever" then we took off.
I smashed him, the Max is a killa on from the roll plus to top it off it was early in the morning and the temperature was real cool outside. He didn't stand a chance, I pulled so far on him I had to slow down to make sure he was still racing, he was because he came flying by me and then I just got back on the throttle and caught up with him at about 95, then I pulled away again.

He finally gave me a thumbs up and I thought a lil respect in this case was cool, we pulled over and talked and he asked what mods did I have because he was looking for a turbo/sc or nitrous. He said man you just ripped me one so fast I had to pull you over and see what you were running under the hood. His eyes damn near popped when he didn't find any major mods, he said I was really trying to get with you.

We shook hands and walked to our cars, he had a nice take off and the car sounded cool, btw, it was an auto.

Ya, those stock IS300s are a joke especially with auto. I saw 2 pairs of HIDs closing up on me quickly so I dropped it down to 3rd and waited for them to pass... Saw it was 2 IS300s going at it and I decided to crash their party... Caught up with them, and passed them with ease!!! I ended their race as they just went back to crusing speed and never pass me even though I slowed back down to 70... So I couldn't even give a thumbs up.. hehe

But those things can be turbo'ed so easily... then we are looking at 500-600hp to the wheels... DROOOOLLLLLLL!!!!!

yeah, that's what is so appealing about the IS's, easy to get a whole bunch of power with twin turbos that are readily available. plus, rwd always helps.
