Well, the Evo is nearing completion, so I've started thinking about the Supra, and I need to know where I can get info as to where the alternator, distributor etc go, I ordered white metal parts for a little extra detail this morning, but I can't find any good sites which actually show me a nice layout of the engine :(

:help:

The alternator is located at the lower right side (the turbo charger side), and it's so visible from the top. And I believe it has the direct ignition, and doesn't have one of those conventional distributors, which leads to the spark plugs.

I've got about 30 pics like that, I'm looking for 360 degree views of the engine...but thanks Hiro for the information about the alternator :) Hmmm...now I don't need the distributor..hmm...oh well might come in handy at some point :)

In those pictures, the alternators were removed, but it sits just in front of the engine mount, and under the water pump.

Try some google image search by "2jz"

Now I just need to figure out which one's the starter motor

A starter motor is not driven by the belt, but it's attached to the side of the engine and transmission case.

I'm aware of that :)

I just need to where it is attached :D

It's bolted to the flywheel/flexplate bellhousing on the transmission/transaxle. It usually bolts into the bellhousing, with the gear sticking into the bellhousing and mates to either the flywheel (manual) or flexplate (automatic). The "can" of the starter motor portion extends either forward (towards the back of the radiator) or towards the front of the engine (in a transverse mounting). From the looks of the above picture, the starter motor is on the right hand side (standing in front of engine, or opposite side of turbo) since the turbo wastegate is residing in the location the starter would, if it were on the "left hand" side.
