Bleeding coolant system

To bleed you can just leave the radiator cap off right? If I do this with mine it just slowly rises untill it overflows, whats up? Am I missing something?

there is a bleeder valve on your thermostat housing, use that

Ooohhh Yeeaah....duh...coolant bleeder valve, i'll do that...but cant you also do it buy running without the cap?

yes, but you won't get all the air out.

There's also a big bolt on the block under the header that you can take off, and it'll all pour out. I learned that one the hard way.

actually i don't think that is the thermostat housing, but that is the bleeder valve.

Air in collant = no heat from the heater.

he wants to take the air out of the system, not drain the fluid.

If you dont get all the air out it can also overheat if theres alot of air still in the system..overheatiing is bad.....:devil: ...
