konig rims

my girlfriend its going to buy this konig tantrum rims , she its going to pay 1250 for the whole package (rims tires balance alignment). i thnk this is a bargain but her friends are telling her not to get them because of the winter. the rims are not chrome, can any body tell me what effects would winter(snow) have on non-chrome rims.
