Hey,
This question has prob been asked quite a few time however I had a small look around and couldnt see any similar posts.
Now I have the 1989 GL model (Dual CV Carbs) and I want to change it over to injected with VTEC..
Now I aint going to do this myself cause I dont know that much... What I am wondering is do I just get a new head that is injected with VTEC.. Is it possible to change it over to dohc?
Also during the conversion what else will I need? Fuel systems or air systems?
Finally I am in Australia so any fellow aussies know how much I will be looking at $$ for it + installation..
Thanks alot for your help!

Drop a B16a1 in there 160hp
It's a DOHC Vtec engine.

wouldnt it be easier just to put a new head on it?
I am after the cheapest option..... and I would like DOHC injected or single overhead..
just so that in the long run I will be able to drop a turbo in it cause it isnt worth turbo'n a carby right??
Thanks for your help

its not gonna be cheap to convert from carb to fuel injected, you might as well swap a whole motor.
get a dohc ZC they run about 800 with tranny and ecu with shipping.

yea, it will probably cost about the same to just swap engines. I picked up a D16Z6 engine, tranny, and ecu for 600 bucks. Just check around different places and you could probably find some engines for cheap.
Also, I have no clue what I'm doing, well a little bit of a clue, and I'm thinking about rebuilding and swapping an engine into my car. Never touched the internals of a engine before either. Gonna be a fun few months ahead of me.
