Although I don't have the money right now, and won't for a while...heh, does anyone know if their SR20DE turbo system will work with a 96 G20?
If so, is the intake that is included cold-air inducted?

The HS turbo kit is not designed for the G20 (P10 or P11). However, once I get the DET installation pipes to John, all that would need to be fabbed is a pipe from the turbo to the IC. All other pipes will work.

Now that I am 90% recovered from my surgery, I can now put together those pipes for him (I got side tracked for 6-8 weeks). Maybe I'll do them at the geekout next weekend.

The intake is not a CAI type of intake.

Thanks for the info.
Maybe I can start some sort of petition so that the parts wont have to be fab'd.

That wouldn't be hard to do, but John would need a mule to fab that pipe up. I'll try to look at Lew Shadoff's page with the installation of his HS kit on his 200SX SE-R. I may be able to get it 95% correct.

The F-max turbo kit will work as well. It has the highest hp output as for the pricing is relatively expensive.

F-Max also does not have piping that will work with the G20/Primera. Only the downpipe will work. The rest will have to be fabbed.

When I finish with the pipes for the DET installation kit, only one pipe would have to be fabbed to use the HS kit on a P10.

The HS turbo kit WILL work on the G20. I have been in contact with them for a while and they are sponsoring the kit on my 92 G20. It requires a JWT specially programmed ECU. An HS representivive said that if anyone with a G20 wants the kit, give them 7-10 days and they will be ready to ship to your door.

General Retail Prices: $3299 for the complete kit
$800 for the JWT programmed ECU for the G20

Not too bad for 80+ hp at the wheels.

Since when do they have piping to fit the G20? They did not have any piping when I started my DET project. In fact, they tried to work out the routing for the piping and sent me the mock-ups. I'm actually going to be sending them a set of mock-up pipes so they can create a kit.

The only think different between a DET kit and their kit would be the turbo to IC pipe. HS sponsored my DET project and I have the intercooler they use in their kit.

Did they get another mule to mock up pipes on? They tried to use Tom Paule's G20 to do the pipes for my car, but Tom's car has some front end damage that precluded using it. Last I talked with John he didn't have pipes for the G20.

D'oh! Buy the ECU from JWT and save yourself about $200. Are you sure he said $800?

Jason, You're right. I also thought $800 was a little expensive for the ECU. If they will sponsor that for me too, then I'll take it. If not, then I will just go to JWT and buy it myself. I can get it at JWT for $560.

P10DET,

They may have got another G20 to run the piping for. When I last talked to a representitive, they said 7-10 days to have a kit ready for a p10 G20. They have all the paperwork for my car, and we are now trying to negociate a deal for the kit.

If you have any more insider info, let me know.

JWT makes a nice kit for the G20. Currently, I think they only make a kit for the P11. The P10 is still in developement. I talked to a few guys that work for JWT. The kit sells for $4000 w/o intercooler. In my opinion, the hotshot offers more for the money. They have a good quality turbo kit with intercooler and at 7psi, their kit will produce 80+ hp at the wheels. Get a Cobra MAF, and you can run a little more boost.

I don't think they are offering that kit at this time. It was originally developed for Nissan USA, but they lost interest in the project. I don't think there is enough market for that kit to incur the cost of CARB certification. I'll check with Mike Kojima when I talk with him next.

I put a call in to John today. I'm waiting for him to return my call. I may call a friend who is tight with John and see what I can find out if John doesn't get back to me soon.

It's entirely possible they have gotten another mule.

Yep. But, after the articles came out, Nissan lost interest in the project. I'm pretty sure it got put on the back burner after that. CARB certification is very expensive. I don't think there is the market to warrant it. I could be wrong though and will check with Mike. I know he will know the status.
