Even with just the back seat gone, the road noise is still pretty loud, but some dynamat, and a vinyl covered MDF cover should do away with that... My car is going to be pretty heavy once the stereo stuff is done. Should still be pretty quick with the Y8/Turbo though...

Yea! Its loud! I LOVE IT!!! Its sounds badass, almost like sticking your ear in the exaust pipe! My next chalenge is to take off the door panels the carpet the center piece that holds the ac/heat and deck, takin out the dyno mat I put in when I put in the stereo... Taking out the stock dyno mat that honda put in, removing the other half of the roof and just about anything els I can to lighten it up! I have to compensate for the aluminum strut bars and camber/caster kit thats goin in!

Damn dude, I think you have lost it Seth. The door panels are pretty easy to take out, just had to take mine out the other day to instal some tweeters, the hardest part was getting the damn window handle off.

not to piss on your parade or anything but stripping the car down will only gain you approx. 0.07 seconds. why do i say that? 91ZC has a b16 in his sedan. with full interior it runs a 14.8 time. i know a fully gutted CRX, also with b16. it runs 14.1 time. i'm sure there are better times out there for each style car. my point? yanking every last piece will make a difference but not a huge one.

that was approximately .7 seconds..... and time can vary a whole lot depending on the skill of the driver and the motor, even if it's the same one, it's probably not in the same condition....

Every little bit helps, and although your methodology for determining the gain is a little skewed (since the times are taken from 2 different cars with 2 different drivers), .7 sec is still a considderable gain just for lightening the load.

it could vary. give or take a couple of seconds. but, IMO, that's not a big enough gain to yank that much crap out. everything is out of that CRX. i suppose, more power to ya. it's a free mod. i personally would get my gains in other ways.
what about that maxima SCC chopped up? they weighed it and raced it at each wieght reduction. i don't remember the final time gain but i know it wasn't over 1 sec. damn, now i need to find my mag. that will drive me crazy to not remember

get needle nose pliers or a flathead screwdriver with a bend in the tip, slide it in and try and get it to latch under a split pin in there and pull the pin out and the handle comes off, its not too hard, use a flashlight to look inside 2 find the pin

That was the funniest article i have ever read, i could not stop laughing because they chopped up that maxima to the limits, Its funny how it used to be a complete car with body kits and rims and all that stuff and turned out to nothing but a steering wheel, seat, under carriage frame and motor.
They actually shaved 2 seconds in the 1/4 mile with that car. it ran like mid 16s stock and after weight reduction, it ran 14s.

The chopped car was a Sentra, not a Maxima. And taking off window cranks is no problem, get a pick tool set from Sears and they come off no prob.

how many 4th genners have miata rims? hehehehe, other than that I've never seen anyway with red rubber non-slip material on the dash, and I made my autmeter tach to where it just snaps onto the dash(but you can't tell it's removable) so that way I can take it out when I have to park the car somewhere like an airport or something where it will stay for a while. Other than that there's not much else unique about my car.

yea, there is a tool to take it off, but i couldn't figure it out completely, still had to use a flathead screw driver to grap the pin. Getting them back on is easy, just put the pin back on, then slide the handle back on.
