OK so initially I was extremely excited about the Citroen C3s release in New Zealand and was eagerly anticipating the car- however once I checked the car and the price out- I was disappointed. The car was relaesed here late last year and in January- I went down to Citroen of Greenlane to check it out- Of course I loved the way it looked very interesting indeed- but The price is god-damn ridiculous!!!! $27,000 for the base model 1.4???? Get out of town! For crissake- I don't want climate control air-con in my super mini- nor do I want half the other flashy features that made the car so expensive. There is a reason that the 2O6, Corsa, Jazz and Echo (Yaris) sell so well in New Zealand- they are more basic in trim levels with small price tags! A second problem is that the seats- while having a nice shape and very well cushioned- have no damn side spoort so you are sliding up and down the seat.

My mum (Who is looking for a new car to replace her '01 Civic 5dr- took one out and then a similarly priced Xsara- the Xsara was far better to drive and more lively.

The Citroen C3 could still be a good car IF they lower the price- by making spec levels a little barer, give the seats side support and fine tune the ride a little. Just my opinion :)

Odd : in Europe a C3 is less expensive than a Xsara and not more than a 206... are you sure of the prices ?
What will choose your mother ? The 307 isvery nice and is an excellent car. The new Mégane II too, if it's already sold in NZ. And why not a 3 Series Compact.
