replacing internals

I've been told that I should replace my internals in my engine before I put a turbo on my D16z6. I want to be able to handle 9psi and maybe 12.

what exactlly should I replace and how much should it cost me?(do I have to replace everything?) also do you know any good brand names for these peices. or does brand name even matter.

Perhaps a rebuild of your z6 if it has high miles. I think rods and low comp. pistons might be a good start but not sure if those are necessary with 9-12psi of boost. Rods + pistions will cost around $700. There are other methods as well. Im sure others will help you out.

i think that if your only gonna run at most 12psi just rods and pistons should be enough. you can keep the stock comp ratio since its pretty low already at like 9.2 or.6 i believe, and thats pretty low. if you have extra money, i would suggest a upgraded valve train. i think it will be alittle more than 700, maybe like 900 but idk this is a guess

Get your self an ems and get it tuned also. You'll be set. Also upgrade your fuel. Like get fuel pressure regulator, fuel rail, fuel pump, and fuel injectors.

You want to go turbo right? Well my sugestion would be to utilize HI comp pistons and get a smaller boost kit.. You will make the same HP#'s as the guys with 8 5:1 runnin 16LBS if you have 10 5:1 and run 8lbs... You will end up paying less for this setup and can get 8lbs of boost out of a junkyard turbo setup with ease if your straped for cash.

This guys like Im runnin 12Lbs of boost off a JRC with 15 0:1 CR pistons in a h22 and 120 octane fuel.... That sold me... Hey I found a block on the side of the road, anyone know what a R23 is? Its like a 2.2L inline 4... Could be a 2.0L...

Okay, when you are gonna be running at least 6 ot 7 psi you better fukin change your clutch cause when that shit is spoolin up it can rip your OEM clutch or whatever u got, get at least a stage 2 Clutchmasters or a Exedy Race Clutch cause your going to go through that clutch like anything!
