I've heard brospeed is a good one, but last time I mentioned it nobody seemed to tell me different, I'm actually getting a brospeed exaust unless I hear different on how good they are.

i love my Thermal R&D, you'll hear DC Sports, Greddy, Tanabe, and a few other... as well as i'm sure a few ppl will say to go custom made... but my vote is for thermal...

hmm...? there's dc sports, i think those are pretty popular..... and good as well i heard.... although i dont really know what's supposed to make certain headers better than others whether it's the name brand or whether they are 4-2-1 or 4-1..... anybody out there know???

Forget the name brand thing man, just go to Pep Boyz, they got awesome ones for $90. With the money you save over the GReddy stuff you can get carbon hood ,m and a few other things:frog:

told ya you'd hear all kinds of answers... and as for brospeed.. if you live where rust is a problem don't bother or you'll be replacing it in a year... and i think he was talking about catbacks and not headers... but a good header will greatly vary upon how your car is set up... its all about legths of the pipes and sizes and how they meet... search around the next i'm sure you can find a very indepth explanation how they work... and yeah el cheapos can be good... till you drive a year in the salt that just eats right through the damned exhaust and you end up replacing it every year or two...

I agree with jeef, you should go with thermal. I've heard a bunch of others (not on a crx tho) and they are all too loud, like driving in 5th gear down the highway you can't hear your own radio, its hella annoying. The Thermal is only loud when you want it to be, 5th gear at 70 mph isnt that loud at all, but drop in 4th, and damn it's sexy.

I would go with APEXi. I have an APEXi WS on my 91, and an APEXi dunk 115 on my 92. last exhaust I will ever buy.

yeah im goign for sound but i dont want it to me loud like really high pitched just like a nice deep sound or sumthing kinda like the supra on the fast and the furious.....how much HP does an exhaust system give you like just an average one or sumthing or does it depend on was size pipe and stuff like that????.....thanks

I have a universal muffler on custom piping, and it sounds really good. People have actually asked me what I have cause they want the same setup. Mine isnt loud and buzzy, but nice and deep.

*cough* *cough* wat a ricer!! *cough* cough*. Sorry, something was stuck in my throat as i was typing. Lol, na im just playing, my bro has custom exhaust on his del sol, and it sounds exactly like my friends Skunk2 exhaust he has on his del sol, plus its hella cheaper. The only problem is that you wont get the same hp increase (which isn't much either way), I'd estimate you get like 2-4 hp with custom, 5-8 hp with quality brand name exhaust, plz correct if im wrong on the numbers. The reason the hp is different is because with brand name exhaust the pipes are mandrel bents, so the have a round bend to em, where as custom exhaust made in a shop is generally bent with 90 degree angles, or something like that. So basically brand name exhaust gets better air flow, but like i said, if im wrong plz lemme know, dont wanna be handin out false info.

yeah i gots a ractive rear section my car right now...doesnt sound too annoying...dont get me wrong its loud but its a deep grunt...not a high-pitched whine that i hear all the time around here...

i like the way it makes the car sound...and when i get the rest of the piping done, it should sound even better...

Hey CanuckCRX, ma man! you're on the right path:frog: straight pipe is the best bang for tha buck! don't be a succa like the utha. tossing cash on pretty mufflers. then you got more doe left for other modz, like chips and camz, and air filters. or maybe even Nitro(If yur hard core enuff!)

Just step into ma private office and I'll teach ya evrithing I know:frog: you'll be just like me:devil:

i don't think a good exhaust would net you even 5 hp. I/H/E will get you somewhere between 8-12 hp maybe a little more. and i don't see crush bends vs. mandrel bends making much of a difference on a small 4 banger barely pushing 100 hp at the flywheel.

gs is right, though its better to have a smooth flowing exhuast rather than the crush accordian bends, it prolly wont matter all that much.

im running an Apexi N1 muffler on my car with 2-1/4" mandrel bent piping out my car and it sounds nice and deep and not very loud to attract cops.
