Programming 1999 Maxima SE Remotes

Hello,

I got a 1999 SE Auto last week. Off-lease w/33k miles. The car is in perfect shape -best car I have even owned and this is my 9th car. I've wanted one forever. There is one small problem The remotes were lost. The car came with a Ford remote that does not include the trunk open button.

I bought 2 used remotes on eBay and tried to set them up but it is not working for me. I used instructions that are supposed to work on a 99. It started off by putting the key in the ignition 6 times within 10 seconds and the hazards are supposed to go off. Then I do a bunch of other steps. No luck - hazards do not go off.

1. Does a 99 SE come with the same remote system as the others? I checked the window sticker and it did not have any optional security featues. Is it possible that my car does not have the remote system from Nissan?

2. Are the instructions for programming remotes in a 99 different from a 96-97?

Thanks, Peter

go to a nissan dealer and give them ur vin#. 99 + maximas have a chip in keys so its programmed with ur security system. the remote probably costs around 30 bucks. good luck:flash:
