Are Integras fast? I don't have any car yet and i want one that is cool and fast. One i could race if i put mods on it. Would an Integra be a good choice? Thanks.

I would have to say yes, b/c I have the non-vtec model which is down by 28hp from the vtec one and I am currentl running mid 14's and will be in the 13's by the end of march!

haha, whiteg ur "fast" now eh? j/k...he's rite his car is pretty "quick" in my book. really every person has their own opinion of "fast". i say anything that can run low below 13 seconds is fast. 13.1-14.9 is quick, an the rest above are "being worked on." integras have nice motors to work with, and u will find that you can beat a lot of other imports with simple mods. but at the same time, with my set-up, im not going to take a truly fast car like a z06 or anything of the such. well, hope i was a little help. :D

Haha, it suites me I guess j/k... I am still jealous of gsr owners though, b/c without my nitrous I can't seem to beat my friends gsr. We have about the same mods except he remved his a/c as well. When we drag race from dead stop I pull on him until about 40 then he walks the hell out of me! :( But top end we can run down the interstate and at about 120 I start pulling on him  Weird

I'd have to say for sure Teggy's are fast. I have a 01 SE/LS with a couple bolt on's and it's like a rocket. I've had it up to 220...oh sorry about 140 on the highway (I'm in Canada), with only a AEM CAI. I just recently purchased, and on this Tuesday, I will be getting the AEM Tru-Power Pulley Kit added as well as a short throw. Should be a bit faster after that. Acutally the non-vtech is only 20 hp down from the GS-R's. I should be able to take a GS-R now. I have the CAi, and the pulley kit, and I'm sure the short shift will give me a big advantage. But back to the thread. There is so much you can do to these cars. Now I have a buddy who is going to be buying a Nissan Sentra SE-R Spec-V. That car is going to be quick. Stock 195hp, but I hate the look of it. If you're interested in buying a new car, wait for the RSX Type-R to hit the market...stock 215. I guess the best thing about the Teggy's is that you can get any part you want for them because they are a (and I dread saying this...and was why I didn't buy a civic) popular (uhhh) car. But personalize it, get your own flav. and you'll be good to go.

Unfortunatly, the gsr's have an advantage over us LS owners, their gear ratio is much shorter and has better accel. Even if we had the same power they would pull in a drag race:(. But if you can find a gsr tranny or even better a ITR final drive for your s80 tranny, unless you are blessed with a y80, you caould then smoke them :).

jus correcting a couple mistaktes...stock SE-R Spec-V Comes w/ 185 hp, an the new Type R will come with 220hp. i don't think a couple mods will beat a gsr, an the throw in the gsr is pretty short as is (my short shifter wasn't much of a change from stock). an as whtteg put it, the gear ratio's are much better...wish i had LSD an the Type R Gear set-up tho...:D

small correction. The SE-R Spec -V is only 175 HP. A friend of mine has one with the 6 speed and i spanked him in my integra.

normal SE-R is 165 and Spec -V is 175.
This is from the nissan webpage:
Inspired by the streetwise swagger of Nissan's legendary Skyline, the 165-hp sport-tuned SE-R emerges from the shadows. And for the true believer, the Spec V version - with its 175 horsepower, 6-speed manual - is the only choice.

youre forgetting the 6800 vs. 8100 redline
us itr and pre 98 jdm itr have the same exact gear ratios/final drive as udsm 99-00 si's minus lsd. 98+ jdm itr has same gear ratios but a 4.785 istead of our 4.40
ls tranny's are made for fuel economy. they use longer gears to keep the rpms lower while cruising. yes they will pull harder at high speeds. at 100mph im out of my powerband while your at peak torque (close)
rye, the difference isnt 20hp...here or in canada
