alright, i'm gettin kinda bored with my stock bumpers. i've modified the front by cutting all that stuff out and putting in mesh and now i wanna do something else to give it a little more aggressive look. thinking about fiberglass.. maybe make my own custom lip? how would i do this? i've done some fiberglass work but that was just covering up holes... not making something. throw all ur ideas at me of what i can do to the bumper. (I cannot buy any bodykits or anything because lack of money) so plz dont suggest that:) hehe and if anyone has any pics of custom bumpers with homemade lips and stuff lemme see them hehe. oh yea, my cars an 89 Hatch and has been lowered 1.8 inches already so i cant make anything huge under there.

40 bucks? lol um i guess you could go get some cardboard and cut it out to the shape that you want the lip to look like then fiberglass over that and sand primer and paint. if you do it please take your time and do it the right way don't rush through it. peace

alright thanx alot, and you just leave it on the cardboard to give it more stability?? i will take my time. i only have 40 bux right now cuz the rest of my money in my account is for insurance, my parents told me i'm not allowed to touch it lol, kinda sux but at least i'll know i have insurance money when i'm driving

ok this may sound ghetto but ive seen it done and it looks really good.
mount a piece of styrofoam underneath your bumper and cut into it in any design you choose, then fiberglass over your new design, then paint it, it looks very good, and its very cheap to do.

that doesnt sound ghetto really, if I shape it i know it'll b perfect to how i want it and the fiberglass will just help and make it stonger. these ideas are better than the home depot lawn edging on h-t

the only bad part about it is if you hit something, it will just tear off the section of styrofoam so you'll have like a hole in the middle of it all.

yea didnt think of that. because i'm gonna fiberglass it right to my bumper and mould it in so it looks like one piece i think just the fiberglass with crack and break and i could just re fiberglass it, it prolly wont be permanent tho, just something for looks right now

alright ya i'm thinkin about that. i wanna see what other options people come up with, i cant do it right yet cuz the cars in the air and I want it at ride height so i dont make it too big or anything. to mount it, i'm fiberglassing it right to the bumper so it looks like 1 piece

Man, you live in Hamilton.. You're going to break whatever it is that you make the first day you take the car out..
Cheap mods make cars look cheap. Just work hard, leave the car the way it is for now, and save up for better mods.

The other thing you can do is get a lip from an 86-89 integra, bolts on and looks decent, 88CiViC_DX has one

well actually, i live in Grimsby, i just put hamilton cuz its like 20 - 25 mins from here and its more well known than grimsby lol, but yea i know what ur talkin about how i'll break it in hamilton lol, i was thinking of making the lip look like the one from the pic melt posted. just something small but looks good. if it breaks the first day then it breaks, no biggie, just fiberglass, paid like 5 bux for the sheet stuff and we have tons of resin here so its in expensive for me, i can always try it, and if i dont like it then take it off, simple as that

i still need to get the washers and bolts to put my Si lip on....
go try the fibreglass/foam combo, i think that wouldnt last as long as the cheaper and plentiful HDM lip
Home Depot Market #1 :D
