tach mounting?

ok, i know this has been asked before....but i cannot find the post.....i hate to say it....but after a while of looking for a stock Si tach and failing to find one under 70.00 (other than ebay) i just broke down and bought a spaceship tach, i was wondering where you guys mounted yours? i cannot seem to find a decent place anywhere...well....anywhere that doesnt look ghey anyway, i would love to see pics as well, thank you

i just put mine in, i mounted it on the right side of the gage cluster

Yea, i borrowed my boy's tach after he sold his car because i was bored and had nothing to do, i just wanted to shift light....... Here is where i mounted it, i love this spot, it looks real nice from outside also........

Oh and i put the wiring throught my glove box cause i diddt want to drill a hole for it cause its coming out soon........

I mounted my tach on the side of my instrument cluster too, just be careful of putting your shift light cover on when the plastic is cold, i broke mine the other day....had to get a new cover from the junkyard...

i guess thats a upside for me, mine has a integrated shiftlight, it is actually inside the tach, you can see it on the picture of me reving to 7400 rpms, it is the red light on the right hand bottom side

slammed89civic: you should've went to U-Wrench-It in KC. its right off I-435 and they always have about 10 4th gen's with a tach. :)

I got the spaceship tach to, but as soon as I find a SI gauge cluster then I'm getting rid of it.

also, whats really wrong with getting one from ebay? I know its not as reliable as going out and getting one yourself and all but I usually think its worth it for the price that some things go for on there. Thats just how I see it cuz ive never had any problems with ebay... knock on wood.

why pay $50-70 on ebay for a guage cluster when you can go to a junkyard and get em for $20-30...?

because my local junkyards dont have any they all know me by name, and they call me whenever they ger a fourth gen or a crx, and they never have the Si tach

the Si tach is the same as the sedan with a tach. they all have a 6800 red line.

he i have the same tach and i took my middle vent off i put it in there. next week me and my friend are going to fiberglass a gauge pod for it i wil try to post pictures up as soon as possible when im done.

Guys, I was at pick and pull today in fairfield, and there were 3 lx's with tachs, 2 90-91's and an 88-89.

And if I got one of the big tachs, I would mount it on the left side.

Oh yea, and here is the reason I went to the junkyard, and some new pics of my now ghetto hoopty. I am getting an alarm next week, so I will put the bumper lenses in after that goes on.

how the hell did you fit a 5" sunpro drag'n tach in your vent...not possable without cutting alot of shit out of the way

i took that thing that covers the light out and painted the housing red and the bulbs too it doesnt look that red in the pic, soon im gonna put red LEDs in palce of the stock bulbs, painting the plastic white around the gages helped to make it briter too

it fits. i wil try to get some pic 2day or 2morrow but it looks gay right now because it is just sitting there. i can wait till i make the gauge pod

Well, where my car is right now, is as far as my car goes, cause even at stock height, it scraped, but my white hatch diddt and i got it in and out of the garage with no prob, but the Si scraped at stock height and i dont even wanna try with it lowered, and i deffinatly dont wanna try with the kit on now......

HAHA!!! I've actually done that. I had just swapped out my gauge cluster and some of the bulbs were out or something, i can't remember, but the right side with the speedo didn't light up, so i was sitting there telling the cop about it and sounding like a dumbass, man that was a fun night. That cop was pissed, he supposedly followed me for a few miles, saw me pass a lot of traffic, and after I turned at the junction a get about a quarter mile away from it then all of a sudden a see a cop come flying around the corner, i busted up laughing, pulled over, and waited for him. I tried getting me for anything he could, even tried saying that a root beer can was a beer can, got away with nothing, dumb cops.

this is one pic i will post more one i finish the guage pod. i know it looks bad right now but it think it will look sweet once it is done. i cant do it this week cuz i work everyday except sat

HOLY SHIT, but i'm sorry, i dont wanna be a dick, but that looks so UGLY IMO, i bet when u finish it will look fine, but with a different TACH, cause that one is just Wierd and UGLY....... sorry.........
