The car hybrid from Toyota is named PRIUS
I have seen in Spain some of them... it is like a bit psychedelic or futurist perhaps.
The first impression you get when you see it is a hard car, not very pretty but ideal for family and weekends.
If you want to go with your childs to the school, go to market to buy food, gave a walk with the family and the dog or pick up money from the Credit Card, this is your car.
I don't find it as comfortable as a Mercedes (I have several Mercedes) but for usually use this car seems to be acceptable.
It is not expensive, only 24.110 Euros (Euros and Dollars are the almost the same)
Here you have extensive information about this car:

Talking about the future. I'm looking forward to see how will supercars like the Lambo and Ferarri adapt these changes in the near future. It may take many years since, I'm sure, due to performance issues the supercar makers will be proabably the last ones to get into these technologies. Unless a new solarpowered power source could be discovered that could take a car up to 200 MPH :smoka:

At 9 MPG Lamborghini isn't trending in that direction.

Hmmm I for once would like to see a cold fusion powered Lamborgini. Looks like I'll have to wait for a few decades :D

I'm looking forward to the day that cell powered cars surpass petrol gas ones.

prius is not a cell powered car
it uses cells when gas-power is not demanded from the vehicle

my only complaint for prius/echo type vehicles, is that the instrument displays are in the middle...
that is probably enough to throw people off

in october they are now releasing the 2004 Prius which is by far better than the 2001-03 ones...
you want info...
0-60 is 10 seconds
the 04 prius has toyota's new synergy drive can use both electric and gas at the same time (only hybrid to do this) during sudden accell.. otherwise it will use electric from a stop. when combined it give 143 hp.. which is decent for a hybrid. its as powerful as some gas cars..it has electronic air conditioning which can run without the engine running.. its on a seperate drive. this also adds mileage.. about 55 mpg :) it uses a "start" button in place of the ignition key. it has 60/40 fold down seats which has alot of cargo room.. also it has a new design. much more futuristic looking than the 03 prius. the aerodynamic something is 0.26 which i have no clue how good or bad that is... but they say that's supposed to be good. it uses CVT and has around 296 lbs of torque. (yes, 296lbs.)
the base price is 19,995
if you want some options....
it has xenon headlights with HID headlamps. also a 9 jbl premium speaker system with 6-cd changer. It contains voice command for: dvd navigation, audio, climate control and bluetooth! (wireless for your phone). touch screen lcd dvd navigation. smart key entry.. which is you can keep your key in your pocket but when you walk by, the car will sense the key and automatically unlock. then you just press the "start" button and go. (remember you dont need a key) It has VSC.. vehicle stability control.. abs is standard.
the fully loaded prius comes at about 25,000
in japan.. the 04 prius is the first car that can park itself. you use the touchscreen lcd and tell it where to park and the car has sensors and cameras which will park for you.. parellel parking, rear parking, anything

corrections:
SE/SS Smart Entry/Smart Start will unlock your vehicle only if your hand is touching the sensor behind the door handle
Prius' CVT does not use a normal cone+belt system. It's even better, it uses a planetary gear, like a differential
