Mounting tweeters. Need advice

Alright, just got a component system to hook up, just trying to find a place to mount the tweets. Is there anything behind the panel just a little bit in front of the door handle? I'm thinking about mounting it flush there and it don't look like anything is behind it because of how thick it is, just want to make sure before I start drillin.

I always have thought 4g4d store did a great job of mounting his tweeters.

well i have mb quart's and i installed the tweeters right where you are talking about. theres nothing behind there. you are free to mount them there but it would be a good idea to take off your door panel to do it.

Thats what I just put in was MB Quarts. Yea there is nothing back there, well except i was a little too far over and accidently hit the air vent, but didn't go through it. Yea, I can't really hook up the tweeters yet until I take the door panel off, don't have the right tools right now, but just the mid by itself is just as good as the kickers with tweets that i had in there.

his door panels look good, haha yea thats a clean place for some tweeters, can someone explain the meaning of different systems to me? theres like sql or something? I dunno what all that means? :confused:

i think you may be referring to SPL it stands for "sound pressure level"

Mount it INLINE with the door handle's like infront of em equal distance away from the end of the door panel

yea, thats where I put mine and I think they look really good there.

then there's sq, sound quality, that's where you're going for the quality of the sound over lots of bass.

Well once I get back home(currently 140 miles away) I will take my door panel off and mount the tweets. I drilled the hole about in the middle where the panel slants up where the speaker is. Hard to explain, its a little bit more forward from where the controls are in that yellow door.

Speaking of bass, I had my system on while I was out in the driveway wiring up my corners, and my mom came out cause the windows of my house were rattaling.

Great feeling isn't it? I loved it when I had my system. Man I miss it. Today I was in my friends teg and man does he got some bass, made my eyes shake, everything was all moving and shit, its great. He has like a MTX 500D Mono amp and 2 12 Bazooka subs.

my friends silverado has 2 12 inch L5's hooked up to the fosgate 1000bd amp if he turns it up halfway and you set something the console it will bounce off.

Yea, my boy has 2 L7's in his 530i, and he has 2 1000bd's on em, one for each sub, those thing hit fukin crazy, he used to have one amp and only running one sub and they were so loud when the trunk was open, but when u closed the trunk that shit stayed in the trunk, and not 1 note of bass could be heard, well, a lil, but fukin BMW and their sound dampening is crazy!!! so when he put the second L7 and the second amp in there it is fukin amazingly LOUD and deafening.....
