So, here's the winner of 2nd place:) Many thanks to all those who voted for me btw.

The details;

-Tamiya 1/24 kit with my resin bodykit added.
-Painted with Volkswagon Canyon Red pearlescent spray, topped off with clear laquer, both from Halfords.
-Fujimi 18" Blitz 03 rims with the stock 350z tyres.
-Blitz style scratchbuilt intercooler as seen in the 'How-to' thread.
-My etched GT Wing.
-CF on hood and wing are samples of decals i have comissioned (available in about 3 weeks)
-Interior is stock, as per the instructions. I did a little pre-shading on the seats with Tamiya clear orange, the effect is very subtle, certainly not noticeable in the pics but does and realism to them.

Very nice job youve done there Fly.

I gave you a vote (not telling if 1, 2, or 3) just because of the work you put into making it look so unique (until everyone buys the kit that is):D

Awesome job, congratulations on your 2nd place finish!

What patterns will you be making the CF available in, just twill weave, or basket weave (like the new Enzo)?

Twill weave to begin with so that it'll be suitable for Hoods etc. Then i'll see what opinions are, if all's well then i'll do Kevlar next then perhpas the basket/spot weave types and go from there.

I cant help you there. I used an Auto 'touch up' paint spray from a UK store called Halfords, you might want to try your local auto store.

The only thing I could possibly thing to criticize are the end on the wing... C/f doesn't look right to me there, for some reason... :o

Other than that, you'll get nothing but compliments from me!! :D

my jaw dropped the second i first saw it. i gave it a first place vote, and if i could have, i would have given it a 2nd and a 3rd as well. SUPERB job, Chris. i dare say you are one of the best, if not the best, modellers that i have ever seen. that's one i would buy pre-built just to have it on my shelf. :D

excellent build Chris!

I love the way the carbon fiber hood looks, I think mine will be on hold until you have those in stock, it looks amazing! How did you manage to get it onto the hood so smoothly over all those curves? teach me?

What do you mean? Build one just like it to sell or build a one off conversion? I'd do either if your prepared to pay for it!;)

Microscale Micro Sol is the key. I did end up with a couple of fine creases in it though. That was solved with a clear laquear coat on top, practically made them disappear.
