I'm guessing that the I35 in the car mags is not the same as the G35 everyone is raving about....
As for the I35 itself, who in their right mind would spend money for a steering wheel heater!!!!!!!!

aaaahhhh, the things that set infiniti off from any other manufacturer, thats why we own one right??? :) ...i'm guessing the steering wheel heater option would most likely be seen or should i say felt in most cars up north, now what infiniti needs is a steering wheel cooler, cause texas is too f*cken hot

Correct. The I35 is the I30 with the new 3.5 under the hood. The G35 is the replacement for the G20 and will be called the Skyline in Japan.
It is not the Skyline GTR replacement. That is to be released some time in the future. The G35 is the Skyline sedan replacement.
Confused? Hope not.

I'm loving this car...the only thing is that rear-end.
I'm not to sure about it. I can't think of what they could change to make it better, but I wish they would do something else

he...as long as it comes with the VQ motor, its all good to me. BTW the auto will most likely be a 5 speed auto with tiptronic. also a coupe model is in the works, so maybe they'll put a 6-speed in it or something, i don't know, here's a pic...

well, if they come with paddle shifters on the steering wheel, than that is fine with me...
Otherwise, I'm gonna hold out for the stick. If Infiniti doesn't do it, will probably have to get a Z

The I35 has a steering wheel heater, I'd be willing to bet that they will use the same steering wheel.
RASHINBAN.
I'm sure that they will have a standard cog box as well as your choice of slush box or paddle shifter. (After all this is a Skyline and it is aimed right for the 3 Series BMW)

I'd imagine a steering wheel heater is a coil inside the wheel, so you'd have to get a new one, but thats just a guess.
but your avatar says you live in Florida....What the hell you need a heater for??

ok, that excuse is good enough.
you might want to check out a local motorcycle shop, but not a dirt bike shop. Heated grips are pretty popular on touring bikes in cold areas.
They won't fit your steering wheel, but you may be able to figure a way to make it work for you.
no idea how much they cost.
here's a pic of heated grips:

OH MY GOD I WOULD KILL FOR A STEERING WHEEL HEATER!!!! . i swear my hands freeze to the wheel in the winter here (near fairbanks alaska) where it gets to 60 below zero , but i guess for now ill just wear beatter gloves for the next 439 days then i will be back in sunny florida where my freinds gripe "its too cold to do anything" when it gets to 60 above ...

The latest news I read on the G35 is that it is the replacement for the G20 and it is based on the Nissan Skyline in Japan. It will have 6-speed manual transmission and can crank up to 280 hp (I35 is at 260 hp).
I personally hate the looks of the new G35. The rear-end is somewhat like the Acura 3.2 Coupe and the front-end is a dim shadow look of Porsche or what not. Nevertheless, the combinations of the front- and rear-end on the car just look aweful.
I don't know what you guys think but I like the looks of the I35 Sport. I hope the production G35 will be somewhat like the I35 with all the goodies, yes including HEATED STEERING WHEEL or COOLER STEERING WHEEL, only then I see the G35 is a "must get car" otherwise, G20 is still considered legendary.
First impression is key.
Cheers.

Heres a pic of the new Primera (as it will be released in Europe) Kind a looks like the pics at the start of this topic. Not the new Skyline (G35) as someone claimed.

damn that looks UGLY, reminds me of an echo :apuke:

my mom has a steering wheel heater on her X5, it's sweet in the winter. When it's cold, and you put on the heater, the heated seats and the steering wheel heater at the same time... it's so toasty, you never wanna get out of the car :D
I'm not sure if my dad's XJR or SL500 has a steering wheel heater, they should, but i don't think they do
I've used the steering wheel heater in the summer sometimes too, so even if you do live south you might use it. My hands get cold easily, it was like 75 and i was in shorts and a polo-T at night, i got cold :)

ive heard that the nissan 350z is gonna be around 260hp .. wouldnt it be kinda weird if the G35 pushes more hp then the sports car NIssan 350Z? maybe not considering that other bigger sedans have more hp then smaller cars.. but whatever
i think that the steering wheel heater is for the I35 . but that should be standard in every car.. just cause its that cool :)
anyway i dont like the g35 too wierdly misshaped.. dont kno doesnt apeal to me .. but what u gonna do? cant have everything

I'd probably end up going with the Z b/c it will be affordable and alot faster than the G35 b/c I know its going to be at least 3300lbs or so. I bet with a little kit on it, it wouldn't look so bad.
