My Custom install is almost done. Everything just needs to get a fresh gel coat and it will be finished.
I'm getting the car back tonight so i'll take some more pictures. Then in a week or so it should be completly finished.!!!

2 JL Audio 10W04 subs
1 JL Audio 250/1 mono block amp
1 pair JL Audio 6" coaxle's in front.

http://images.cardomain.com/installs/129000-129999/129046_79_full.jpg

Looks messy now because it hasent been painted.
But sitting in front the subs will be the JL 250/1 Amp flush mounted covered with plexiglass.

climbing in your car with out front seats and chilling in the back seat makes your hatchback look BIG, its like a limo! Try it some day when you are bored and want to feel like a rich dude in a limo. :)

pretty close.
There's the wood frame with grill cloth for the outside layer then inside there's tons of fiberglass mat..

I estimate this system hits about 140-143DB... it's the loudest i've ever heard.

I had it built at my work. A&B sound. so i got a pretty good deal!

90civicrider
01-30-2003, 11:02 PM
Yeah it got chipped off.
I'm going to repaint it all. gotta make it show quality.

My body kit is just sitting in my basement collecting dust.
I plan on haveing it installed and my whole car repainted this summer.

But first i gotta start saving my money again. Everytime i get money i blow it on stuff.. haha i need to cut up my debit card :)

I gotta do something about my amp, I have 2 12's, people should be able to hear me comin like a mile away, but it seems weak as hell.

Buy my setup... People will hear you a mile away if you put the 1 12" in the right box... I hit 138 with it in the "Recomended" box that JL sugests! I know there is more were that came from thoe... Not to mention its a completly SQ based system and sounds clean as all hell!

:eek2: Nice clean setup man. You should be able to hit louder than 140-143 db if you got that shit hooked up right. I know i have said this several times, but here I got again, 140.8 with 120 watt amp, 2 12 JL Audio W0.

Melt how do you have your subs hooked up to the amp? each sub got its own channel?

Civic Jim

Each sub has its own channel, yes.

Tony

Have you tried bridging them in a series(i think thats it, might have series and parallel backwards). It where both subs are bridged off the same channel. It will drop you amp down half the ohms and push more power, just gotta make sure you don't blow your subs, so you might wanna make sure its turned down before you turn it on.

I love JL's. I have that same setup just a different amp. Only my subs are like 7 years old, and they still hit those lows. nice work.

what did i tell ya melt? helped out an ass load.

90civicrider: I'm gonna guess your gonna hit about 144-146 db. Just got out of my friend teg and man does he got some major bass going on in there. Rattles the whole car and you, gives a nice massage :D I'm guessing about a 148-150 db, he hasn't got it tested yet, but is about to.

how would u wire up the subs in series. i just can't figure it out

95civicman
02-01-2003, 10:43 AM
it's called parallel, series is when you double the ohms your sub is puttin out and parallel cut them in half. and bear what you do is you run one + wire from the + term. of the amp to the + term. on one for your 1 subs and the run another wire from the + term. on the same sub to the + term. on the other 2 sub. then you take a wire and run it from the - term. on your amp to the - term on the 2 sub. then run another wire from the - 2 sub to the - term. on the 1 sub.

sorry man you got that backwards, yes what you explained was parallel, but that doubles your ohms, series halfs it, trust me I had my system hooked up both ways and it was way louder in a series.

Too hook up your subs in series, just hook them both up the your bridged channel, that simple. + to +, - to -. Each sub has its own wires, no hooking each sub up to the other sub, like you do in a parallel hook up.

alright, got confused on how you explained it. like i said in my first post, i didn't remember for sure what it was called, haven't done that shit in awhile, but that is the way I said to hook it up, i just skip using the other speaker and hook them both up to the amp, does the same thing
