Who makes that kit? Excellent job so far.

RyanGiorgio

Tamiya, 1/24 Nissan R390 GT1

Memphiz,
Ejector pin marks are caused when the kit is ejected from the molds, they are those 'molded in rings' but they should be filled and removed as they are not meant to be there.

could you explain more please ? Will try to improuve...

Btw the Boddy is painted, decal are aplyed and Clear-coated.. just waiting to dry..

and yes it's 1/24 Tamiya Kit

for the "yellowish" I use Humbrol Clear orange brushed (I used it one time in my air brish, and I pass 4 hours to clean it  ) so I brush it now hehe and I use Metalic Blue.. but I dont shake the bottle.. I get only the clear that is very night blue.. some experimentation there

@ Vric

Great work, you have really managed to bring out the detail.

Maybe you should consider PE seat belts? The car is worth it!

Looking forward to seeing picks of the body :)

Great job i want to build mine now. With the humbrol clear orange
i have useing tamiya clears through my airbrush and they clean out straight away. I mainly use clear-blue,yellow and orange to get my burnt effect

Vric
03-14-2003, 10:08 AM

I am probably going to be buying this kit next week, for about $25 CAD, if the store I'm going to isn't sold out. I've never painted a two-tone, so should be fun...

The car is mine! $25.49 CAD. I might buy another kit, but this makes 5 on the go tamiya kits.......

Which silver are you painting it with? I find with TS-30 Silver Leaf, a series of mist coats is all you need to get a beautiful shine. Then it doesn't really matter if you run out halfway through. Just get a new one and continue with your misting.

Bump for Vric or anybody else who has built this kit. The kit calls for MS3, but I can't find it anywhere. Is there a TS equivalent? What did you use, Vric?

There's TS-49 Bright Red... is this the same? Will the decals match?

Thanks in advance...

At a guess I'd say TS-49 would be a good match. The MS range is difficult to find and I think Tamiya are covering most of the colours in the TS range. The Nissan R390 kit was probably released before TS-49, so MS-3 would have been the closest colour in the Tamiya range at the time. Will double check tonight if you like but am pretty certain TS-49 Bright Red would be spot on.
