And now, the moment you have all been waiting for...

Well, not really.

I found a way to get all my pictures from the 2003 Philadelphia Auto Show on the web. I am using multiple memberships on tripod and splitting up the pictures into 2, maybe 3 or even 4, parts. Part 1: www.carz.tripod.com and part 2: www.carz2.tripod.com . IF you try to go to the pages right now, they may or may not work. Tripod builder sucks and I am having a feew problems with it.

If you are wondering why I posted this in this thread, most of my pics are of this car, and a lot of people on here were waiting for this... believe it or not. :D

My favorites are here:

and
Ford GT

and the Rear...

Why is it that the real thing is NEVER as cool as the concept? Why dont they just make the concept?

That piece in the center flips around and there are 2 headlights side by side. It was the first car ever with hide-away headlamps. Tony, the GT40 looked so cool up close. It was so low to the ground and looked like it was ready to race.

Nice pics.

The Goodyears look cool.

Are they going to be doing decals standard on thsi car. They all seem to be decaled differently.

TexasF355F1
02-01-2003, 12:37 AM
I'm not sure, my guess is that they will make the decals a certain color depending on the color of the car. Anyone else know?

Hmm, I think all the number dacals are white with black numbers. I don't know about the racing stripes. I would want powder blue with red racing stripes, but no number decal. Mmmm. :p

Oh my that's a nice car. Was there any truth to them only making one for sale in the 2003 model year?

SuPeRcAr_MaN
02-01-2003, 11:39 PM
I heard it was going to be a low production number like 3 or something, and it will be in 2004 not 03. But I doubt they will make only 3 or less. I can see that they just want to test the car's popularity, but make at least 50. I think they will be good sellers and will go down in history as a great American sprts car of the 21st century... If Ford doesn't mess anything up. ;)

Ok.

Now everybody here knows what can do about cars: Italians, Germans, Americans, Japanese...

But what about Spaniards?

What may do the Spaniards, in the car industry?...

Perhaps, beauties like this:

This super car is an inmense achievement, it is a:

HISPANO SUIZA, which have the high standards of quality of brands like Maybach or Bugatti.

JESUS28

The history of Hispano Suiza in present times is misterious is necessary do an effort to reach its history.

Here it is:

Creation of HISPANO-SUIZA in 1901 resulting from the meeting between a famous Swiss engineer Marc BIRKIGT and a Spanish banker Damian MATEU.

1911 :
HISPANO-SUIZA forms a company in France for the manufacturing of luxury cars (production will stop in 1936).

1914 :
Entry of HISPANO-SUIZA in the aeronautical world with the design and manufacture of the V-8 aircraft engine (more than 50 000 copies sold).

1919 :
Choice of the famous stork, mythical emblem of the GUYMENER'S Fight victories (on SPAD with HISPANO-SUIZA engines), to represent HISPANO-SUIZA.

In the same fashion BMW appointed in its logo a flag (blue / white), Hispano Suiza Logotype is a Stork. An animal very common in the Spanish churches and villages.

The HISPANO-SUIZA powered SPAD, Symbol of "the pilot aces" of growing aviation during World War, accompanied valorous pilots like the " romantic GUYMENER " on SPAD One and the LA FAYETTE squad on SPAD XIII.

From 1919 to 1936

Grand era of luxury cars for HISPANO-SUIZA.
Long range aircraft raid with HISPANO-SUIZA engines.

From 1945 to 1955

Nene engine manufactured by HISPANO-SUIZA (under Rolls Royce license).

Nene (spanish word, familiar appellative to mention a child) = Little boy

1950 : Manufacture of landing gear.

1951 : Landing gear – activity merged in 1973 within MESSIER-HISPANO-BUGATTI.

From 1955 to 1970

Manufacture of ejection seats (MARTIN BAKER lisence).

3 applications for turbochargers : railway locomotives, naval propulsion and electrical power generation

Manufacture of Turbo-props

1968 : HISPANO-SUIZA becomes a Snecma division.

From 1970 up to now

1998 : Transfer of the power transmissions activities at Colombes.

1999 : Transfer of the "engine controls component manufacturing" and Turbochargers activities from Bois Colombes to the new factory in Bezons.

Ups I sorry

The bad news:

Nobody can buy this car, is only a prototype.

The company is in the stock market and it do prototypes each year.

It is obtaining business value, probably to get sold (as always happends with Spanish companies) to a German car manufacturer.

Anyone here have some thousands of millions dollars to buy this company? (joke)

JESUS28
02-03-2003, 08:30 AM
Ups! I forgot it

Here is the company actually:

http://www.hispano-suiza-sa.com/

I forget to mention it have been sold to the Snecma group.

-----------
Snecma is one of the world's leading aerospace corporations, specialized in propulsion, equipment and associated services, with annual sales of 6,893 million Euros (2001). Customers include Airbus, Arianespace, Boeing, Dassault Aviation, Eurocopter and other leading prime contractors, plus more than 1,700 airlines, armed forces and helicopter operators.

Main companies: Messier-Dowty, Messier-Bugatti, Messier Services, Hispano-Suiza, Hurel-Hispano, Labinal, Cinch, Globe Motors™.
-----------

Probably they will plan do luxury cars? Only time will tell.

LOL :D

I have another friend he do too, Manga and QUAKE are the only to do in his spare time.

Well I don't put all my money in Manga, but I like it.

Specially BLAME, the drawings are nice and what about girls? LOL

Are the hoo .. est girls I have ever seen mate ;)

The stories have no sense, the worst any human being could read... a lot of monsters everywhere... fu .. ing womens... psychedelic... but art from Manga is nice.

Matrix, by example, was done based in Manga comics, it have a visual art style I enjoy a lot: CYBERPUNK very gothic, dark streets, green shadows and neons everywhere, like neotokio, technology, weapons .. LOL :D

It really rocks, at least for me do.

Of course we care, ya'll definately had some really nice cars at the show, thanks for posting 'em. That minority report lexus is crazy looking. It looks as though the setup was the same as it was in Houston for the Ferrari/Maserati booth. All those people standing in line to get a closer look. Did you happen to touch the Murci interior at least? Cuz I doubt they let ya sit in it cuz theres too many dumb people in this world that would break something or steal something(like the shift nob). Thanks for the pics.

They didn't let you get anywhere near the Lambo, Astons, and Bentleys. If you can tell from the pics, there was a fence around the exibit at least 5 feet from every car. The Murciealgo was smack dab in the middle, furthest away from viewing. I did stare at it for about an hour straight, took all those pics, then left... And then came back again later to stare some more. The dealer that was showing the Murcielago also has two more.
Hopefully I will be going to the NYC International Auto Show in April, and then put 3 more web pages up for your viewing pleasure. :D
That Minority Report Lexus was amazing. I had to stare at it for a while to see what end was front or back.
Did the 3rd site work for ya'll??? It didn't seem to be working for me. Well, anyway, I updated the 3rd site slightly about 5 min ago. Thanks for all the comments and hopefully I will be able to improve my site for everyone.
I was also thinking of having a site documenting the restoration of my 1966 GTO. Would this be interesting or should I trash the idea???

Sorry for the lengthy post.
