Sadly, nothing cool. I failed to appear in court for failure to have proof of insurance at an accident, which I had, I just couldn't find after being smashed by a damn Nissan Pathfinder. It was in my pocket.

I've had a pantload of tickets... can't remember them all though...

4 speeding tickets.
2 modified exhaust tickets (first one dropped)
3 no proof of insurance tickets (all 3 dropped)
3 expired tabs tickets.
blah blah blah... can't remember...

Been pulled over way more times than I can count... I'd have to guess aproximately 45-50 times (mostly for having neon lighting on my car, but they always let me go after I turned them off... always drove a few blocks and turned them back on).

The first ticket I got, in September of '95, was for when I passed an unmarked cop car (ford explorer) in a no-passing zone doing 60 in a 30mph zone. I had just moved here to Spokane, and hadn't changed my address on my license or registration or anything, and I completely forgot to pay the ticket... Anyways, the issued a bench warrant for FTA (Failure to Appear), and suspended my license, and all this other crap... Anyways, all the order of suspension notices and such went to my old address (my parents house in Seattle), and they just saved up all my mail until I went to visit them at Christmas. Anyways, I get to their cabin up in the woods (Leavenworth, WA) for christmas, and they hand me a huge stack of mail, most of which was from the DOL, DMV, or Spokane County Courthouse, and I learned that my license was suspended and my tabs were expired...

Well, rather than leave my car at their cabin (in the middle of nowhere) and walk the 230 miles back home, I decided to drive...

About half-way home, I stopped in Moses Lake for gas... Unbeknownst to me, Moses Lake just happens to be the location of the State Patrol headquarters for the state, and I got railed because of my expired tabs, and then the officer finds that my license is suspended, and I didn't have proof of current insurance in my car (which I did have, just couldn't find the card)...

So, he cuffed me and threw me in the back of his car and lectured me about all this crap, and I just told him what happened, so he let me go (with 3 tickets), and he told me that I couldn't drive my car, so I had to go sit in a nearby Denny's and call my sister and her husband to come pick me up and drive my car back to Spokane (120 miles)... They were pissed, but at least I didn't get arrested, and my car wasn't impounded or anything, but I did have to drive back there 3 seperate times to go to court...

The only other run-ins I have with the law are noise complaints by my neighbors, because we party every weekend at my house, and people go outside to smoke and get all loud and shit if I'm not standing right there telling them to STFU.

Minor stuff. Pulled over five times (three times for reckless driving [read: swerving], twice for red light violations), have gotten two written warnings, and one ticket for running a red light. That's it.

1 speeding ticket, 2 yrs and 2 months ago. 10 over in a 40, at 2 a.m.
Gotten pulled over twice since then, no license plate lights (didn't know I had such a thing, let alone that they were burnt out) and no front plate (not putting one on my freshly painted bumper). No tickets from either. They were both at 2 a.m. also.

1 court appearance, 2 days ago, I was a witness.

BTW JD, nothing pisses me off more than red-light runners. I motion that they install tire spikes that operate in conjunction with the red lights so that everyone who tries to stretch a red has to replace their tires and wheels. That'd put an end to it. Thing is, there's no type of collision more deadly than a t-bone and that's what red-light-running causes.

-Arson (Good lawyer weaseled me out of this one)

Wreckless driving gets you cheap insurance.

Reckless driving gets you tickets and sometimes thrown in jail.

I have two red light "violations;" one for failing to come to a complete stop while making a right on red (and the only reason I didn't stop as opposed to slowing down to ~5 mph was that I was running late for work - I had enough time to check traffic and assess that there was no danger).

The other was a situation where yes, I was stretching a yellow light, but I crossed the intersection just an instant too late.. and I was careless enough to do it with a cop next to me (that got me my one and only ticket). Because of the delays built into red lights, you have to run them blatantly late to cause a t-bone, which I have zero feelings of guilt about, because I am never remotely close to running red lights that late.

On the contrary, I will often piss people off behind me because of my reluctance to stretch yellow lights, and yellow left-hand turn arrows, where turning too late will require on-coming traffic to slow down in order to permit you to complete your turn. So I know "the guy" you are talking about, and I am definitely not "that guy" :flash: (and for the record I don't like him much either).

Well, Ive gotten a 2 speeding tickets, 5 days apart. One for going 110 in a 90 (km/h), which was a $100 fine and 3 points (points are bad)
And then, at 1am new years, me driving drunk ppl home, i got pulled over for 144 in an 80. Long story, not as bad as it seems at first, but, i got a summons, and its not cleared up yet, but, it looks like ill get a 129 in an 80, which is $300 and 4 points instead of $700 and 6points.

Thats it:rolleyes:

And on the subject - yes.
I have been pulled over for neg driving (beat a wanker off at the lights) and was threatened with legal action when I hacked into Telstra (national telco) and downloaded 20,000 usernames, passwords and CCs from a 'secure' server in 1998.

Never been in any real trouble.

Gotten pulled over once for having the stereo turned up too much. Just got a lecture from the cop about how its dangerous to play it so loud.
(Disturbing the peace). Other than that, I am 100%

One time I decided to stop quickly for a yellow rather than stretch it, so the guy behind me (in a little 1980-something Merc) passed me IN THE LEFT TURN LANE, continuing on so he was driving the wrong way in the other direction's left turn lane. I was so shocked I didn't get a plate #.

Glad you're not "one of those guys" and sorry I jump to conclusions. :o

The first time I had a run in with the law, I was pulling pranks. We found an old purse (empty) on the side of the road. We went out and one of my friends took a dump in it. We took some papers and put in it and tied a string to it, leaving it on the side of a busy road while we hid in the bushes. People would stop, pick it up, look inside, and stick their hand in looking for money (they got something else). The third person we got happened to be an off duty police officer. My uncle's the local LT, so I got off with a really long grounding and lecture.

Since, I've had one speeding ticket (dropped, challenged and the cop didn't show up) and a disturbing the peace violation (stereo). Been put in cuffs for fighting twice, but was release to my parents. Other than that, I'm a pretty good kid. I'm only 17, so I probably have a lot more to go.

There is only one reason why the police even know I exist, an accident that wasn't my fault. Police report was filed afterward confirming it wasn't my fault.

So no arrests, no warrants, no tickets...

Concealed Weapons violation in the outskirts of Washington DC.

I was camping with my dad, uncle, and my uncle's brother (who was the person responsible for getting me out of trouble). We were just outside of DC. Dad and I ran into the city to pick up some basic supplies, and I forgot to take the filet knife off my belt. A cop saw the bery bottom of the sheath and stopped us. 3 hours later, we were returning to camp...though sadly, without the things we'd gone to buy...:'(

It's a real conversation starter to be able to say you were arrested by Washington DC Police. :D
