For excitement, more people building and showing off the progress of their models, and how they did stuff, and the final product...that's what would make it more exciting. Asking pertinent questions about the models or problems encountered along the way, and the responses from those who do know how to overcome these obstacles will also make it better.

Playing "trained seal" and spending/wasting time counting stuff that's inconsequential...not interesting to me. I don't have the time to count the countless items on my workbench. I've got over a thousand unbuilt models, over a hundred wheel sets, countless bottles of paint, at least a hundred spray cans. I try to have enough of any color I might need w/o countless trips to the store. All I really need is more quality time to build. My F355 waits...
:)

then why did you start it?
there is nothing I hate more than coming on AF to see 20 useless threads like this started because you or somebody else was bored.

Since you are here because you build models, and since you are bored, why don't you go and work on a model!!

I think the only reason he said it was stupid is becasue u idiots jumped all over him about how stupid it was. plus it is starting to get lame cause theres no more progress threads and pics of peoples newly completed models. more people need to finish them. more people as in good modelers casue if u suck like me or less talented then someone else they jump all over you model and tear it apart with comments. just like this thread. dont u remeber the golden rule if u dont have nething nice to say don't say it all. except when fighthing back! hehe

freakray
01-29-2003, 02:13 PM
I don't post my completed models on here anymore because I only get about 10 responses when I do. I build race cars and all you lot want to see are puttied up ITR's and Supra's.
IBL.....I wonder

and it's ALWAYS a good idea to call everyone idiots. and btw mhpspeed, your signature pictures is way too damn big. please downsize it.

01-29-2003, 02:18 PM
Are u talking to me when u say all I want to see is puttied up itr's? I like all kinds of cars not one kind. from stock to modified from rally to f1 nething is cool with me. Plus theres to many itr's. and just to let u know the last itr I built was a race car.

This has never happened here (except in the early days with me as the victim). So I would ask you to please refrain from unfounded comments like this.

If we feel something can be done to improve the model, we'll say so. Isn't it all about. It can happen to any modeller. For example, Phil had to redo a minor detail in his model as he chose to note the comment. The starter of this thread, on the other hand, has not, and I would expect the battery in his current 300zx model to still be in the wrong place.

And this is a modelling forum, not a paint jar counting forum, and I see taht the majority agree with me (and everyone who has my fullest respect has indeed expressed this opinion).

You need to relax.....
The size of your sig is not about it loading, it is about the that it blows out the margins on peoples pc's
BTW, is that meant to be mphspeed?

Integra14
01-29-2003, 02:33 PM
what the hell is this thread all about now.. and when did AF turn flaming into a normal thing?? its not really encouraging newbies to stay at AF in my oppinon

ales
01-29-2003, 02:33 PM
My bad - bad wording. What I got was constructive criticism and some poking from friends. Perhaps you could show me the thread where your model was "torn apart with comments"?

If the model is plain bad (if my model is bad, etc.), isn't it the point to cat criticism and find out how to uimprove this or the next model? If not - what's the point of joining AF?

Ray: I would love to see your models as their top quality and a pleasure to see. Even if I post no comments - it just means that I can't add anything to what had been already said in the thread.

I guess I was wrong on everything. well almost everything. heres a pic of my Integra Type R (I think that sounds better than ITR).

http://files.automotiveforums.com/uploads/226109BlueracingintegratypeR0001.jpg

This was built about 3 months ago (I think)
I guees i can take helping critiscim or whatever I can't spell and dont know what i should call it.

oh and I changed my whole profile just playing around cause I really dont care ne more. will be changed when I can find a reasonable photo or something to put in my sig.

So do you want an honest opinion and a few suggestions or do you want me to just say "good job" (which is actually true to an extent)?

mhpspeed
01-29-2003, 02:46 PM
BTW, its supposed to be mhpspeed cause my intials are mhp I made it case thats what everyone thinks untill they know my intials. and did somebody call me a newbie? when Ive been around for like a year.

So what is wrong with your Teg?
It looks fine to me, where is the rest of the Castrol Supra though;)(assuming that is where you got the decals from).
The only thing I would say you would have to do to improve the Integra would be the panel lines and window trim.

decals from castrol NSX so u were close. cant put panel lines casue the paint went on to thick so if I tried to do them the paint whould just run everywhere. need to get mirrors window trim paint the brake calipers. the one little decal folded over not to sure what to do about that. the light look A little weird need tofix that too bad I dont have good pic to show u them. neds more interior detail and bottom of hood need to be painted.

who called you a newbie?

I think integra14 did but not sure if he was callin me one or in general all the newbies. thats the only reason I asked.

freakray
01-29-2003, 02:54 PM
oh...no, he didn't mean you....

I see the decal you mean, you could try wetting the decal again and then gently use the tip of a paint brush to push the edge back over and down flat. May not sound like it will work, but it will.....just take your time, a little warm water will loosen the decal so you can work with it again.

I'd like to make a point and say enough with the question threads. There's a FAQ that answers everything, and if it's not on the FAQ, PM SOMEONE KNOWLEGEABLE!!!!!!!!!!!!

Don't add extra load to the AF server, or we'll be having server busy messages like last year.

And as it was previously stated, work on a model if you have nothing else to do. Reading about models is great, but you'll only gain experience from doing it yourself.
