STi on the way...

I just put down $500 on an STi yesterday. The dealer dude said that it will be about 4 or 5 months before it will come in. I'm getting mine in a white color. I'm number 4 in line at this particular dealership in the Omaha, NE area. He also said that it will be around 29 to 30K.

Has anyone put down money on one yet? Let me know your experience.

That's just what the dealer dude said. I didn't get anything in writing though. I project that they will sell it at MSRP (whatever that is)... <crossing my fingers> ...I hope that dealer dude knows what he's talking about...

Lemmie get this straight.. you put 500 down on something thats not even out and you have nothing in writing?! :confused:

Reason I'm shocked is b/c i know some people who put down deposites on the Ram SRT-10 which was SUPPOSED to come out late last year, and they keep delaying and delaying and delaying, and I'm betting that it wont even come over. If I were you I'd get over there get some shit in writting, its not even asking much, since when you sit down to determine the price you'll buy it at they have YOU put everything in writing. Who knows that salesman may have allready gotten a new TV by now. Congrats on your buy assuming everything goes well.

You've got a great point. But the deposit is fully refundable and I will likely buy the vehicle. I've waited a long time for this automobile. A year ago I came close to buying the 2002 WRX, but then I saw rumours about the STi and so I waited. It came, I saw, I wanted, I deposited.

The dealer dude said that it wouldn't bother him at all if I don't want the car. He said, "I can sell this thing in a minute if you don't want it." I kind of believe him.

It's hard to believe that none of you peeps have put down money on this incredible ride. I'd figure a whole bunch of ya'll would be all over this post. In a way that's good cause it will gaurantee me the STi. :D
