Ford F150

Can anyone tell me what a 1998 Ford F150 (V8 Triton)third door, shortbox is worth. And if the triton is all its bragged up to be or not???? I am looking into buying one and im curiouse

I love my '97 F-150. It has the Triton engine, the only thing is that I wish I had the fourth door, instead of three.

5.4 Triton is definately worth it, much better in the tourqe department than chevy and dodge

I've know my 2001 F-150 triton 5.4 baby is AWESOME....so far she has smoked the only two Harley editions I've raced so I think she's pretty fast...the only upgrade engine wise is a K & N Air intake system. I would recommend this truck to EVERYONE !!!

I have an 03 Harley Truck. What mods do you have that you smoked one? I know you couldnt beat a supercharged one with just a K & N.

WAKE UP the 5.4 is a great engine no matter what trim or options... but to claim that a Naturally Aspirated 5.4 can take anything supercharged is not only crazy, but bad advertising...

That K&N filter does nothing on your stock pickup. Your truck and my truck(2003 supercharged harley) have the same 5.4L V8 engine excpet for mine has the blower. Which adds 80hp. You k&n will be lucky to add 3hp.

Buy a KB blower and and chip and then we'll talk.

First thing: Pizzle00 is a female.
Second: Her truck has beat 2 Harley Davidson trucks.
Third: They both new she was racing, cause it was from stop light to stop light and more than once.
Fourth: One was a 2001 model and the other was a 2002

She has posted before in a thread as to why she was able to beat these trucks when they are supercharged. I'm pretty sure that the 2001 model was not, but the 2002 was. I don't think that her truck is super fast, but it is pretty damn quick. It is not stock anymore with just a K&N filter. It now has a Diablo Delta chip custom burned for her 100 shot of ZEX nitrous, Lakewood traction bars, NGK iridium spark plugs and an exhaust. I know all of this because I installed all of it and I was in the truck when she raced them. I know she sounds like somebody who needs to be psychologically evaluated, but she is telling the truth. I would not believe it either if I had not seen it for myself.

Interesting... well the 20" tires they come with and the 3.73 gear started to hurt its performance... thus my truck has the better advantage. my lighter weight played a small part as well. And I make my peak Torque lower which mean I should in theory accelerate just as hard as they do. I dunno theres about 600 factors to run through but i'll just make it short and sweet...

Every truck is different and none of you have raced me so until you have dont doubt my performance, I will gladly bow down to the winner if someone would like to come down here and take me on....any takers ?

Okay....I see your point and yes I have the higher Geared rear end and less torque but as I see it......I have 16's that my lower torque can power just as harleys have 20's that their higher torque can power so it seems to basically even out.
Also I should mention that I NEVER said it was a HUGE win, it was very close....few feet....and from the line it was perfect neck and neck but in the shift from 2nd to 3rd is when I got the lead and the harley fell back in BOTH races....I think that is where their 20's and 3.73 gear come in to play for the most part.

your argument is that your 16s are easier to turn, however, rim size means nothing except for weight.

I suspect the overall diameter of the tire (which is what matters as far as leverage and therefore acceleration) is not very different from a HD 20 unless you have aftermarket low profile tires on your 16s and they are tiny, then you will achieve some mechanical leverage advantage.
Admittedly, the HD rims are VERY heavy- something around 80lbs @ with tires. I don't know what your tire and wheel weighs. Unless they are aftermarket aluminum rims tho, they're probably still very heavy.

Your 16s (if stock) have higher profile tires than the HD 20's, keeping the overall diameter approx. the same and therefore, that argument becomes null and void except for the possible weight issue.

This then would bring traction into the equation. Smaller tires= better leverage=easier to spin. Open diff. Spin 1 tire, you sit still.
HD's have LSD, 1 tire looses traction, the other still tries to pull. True HDs have no trouble spinning both, but you essentially have HALF of the off the line traction because of your open diff.

Your own stats you so thoughtfully laid out are working against you.

But as I've heard so many times, it's your story, you can tell it however you want.

Your truck is putting down low 200s stock and HDs are at 320-330 so I don't care what wheel size you have, the only way you beat a supercharged HD was in reverse.

Valid point with the argument about my open diff. and the HD LSD so I checked into my source (my truck guy) and come to find out I also have LSD and I DO apoligize for not knowing my shit with that matter.
My truck came with the Stagecoach package which came with 16" Niche throddle rims and lower profiled tires NOT factory tires so you can rule out that factor.
Allthough I cant give you the stats on the weight of my rims I do know they are not 80 lbs. a peice so HD do have that added weight.

I don't understand what there is to argue about...There is no way to prove Pizzle00 didn't beat these Harley's, and she has proof that she did...ME. I would love for her to race another one and see what happens, but it seems that it's hard to find one to race around here. Most of them are not into racing, but more into looking good and cruisin. I understand why yall would think she is full of ****. But she did beat them no matter what statistics say. I for one can say that I wouldn't be surprised if they were not running correctly or just playing with her, but I guess we will never know. So I say just drop it and get together one day and race and have some fun.

Well I know a little about them as I have owned both a 2001 HD, 2002 Lightning, 2000 5.4 SuperCrew, and finally my 2002 HD. I have forgotten how many Ford modular engines I have taken apart and modified (pun?). However having said that I had no idea that you had added things such a nitrous, so I could see you pulling a stock 01, but you are still down on a stock 02, much less one that has been modded.

Check back with me in about 90 days and you can see what a 900hp HD looks like.

Just reading everyones theories on how she beat him makes me laugh. By the way, the HD is running 14's STOCK and your N/A 5.4 F150 is running 16's. So you are either lying or they weren't racing. Either way, you can't beat one. So swallow your pride and face reality. If you race Ayrton, you'll just get your ass raped just like any other '02-'03 HD. I can't believe I even spent time to register on this site to talk about this bogus claim. But it's getting too much publicity at our site. The only way you beat the supercharged HD to two red lights with your K&N filter is you flooring it and the HD is stuck behind traffic.

Unless you have some big yellow stickers...that easily beat anything on the street.

There are plenty of non-modded HDs in your area that I'm sure will take you on. Next time, make sure they know they're racing. It'll be real easy to know when they are...they'll be in front of you.

She won't do it, everytime someone put an offer up she makes an excuse. Anyway, I had a 5.4 truck (1998) I traded for my 2003 HD. I had a k&n and exhaust on it and it was way slower than my stock HD. You just do not realize how foolish you dogmatic asertions portray you.

Strange things happen sometimes and every vehicle is different, for all I knowing those two HD's were having some engine or transmission problems....and who knows maybe they were having these problems from running their trucks so hard kicking all the F-150 butts they could find. I dont know.......but can we please just be nice and wait for the video ???

possible diagnosis of FastandFuriousitis.

Chronic and potentially fatal. Usually diagnosed in juveniles, mostly males, occasionally young adults and females. Results primarily from a deperate desire to "fit in" and be "cool". Symptoms may be aggrevated by various bad street racing movies.
Many patients who suffer from FastandFuriousitis live with the condition for years, until suddenly it becomes terminal in an instant, often killing those in the immediate vicinity by inertia poisoning.

Symptoms include, but are nto limited to:
Tourrette's like verbal outbreaks (talking a lot of trash)

hallucinations- being unable to tell if they are in front of or behind another vehicle, or the inability to realize the other vehicle has shut down- hence the "I won, by fly-by" clause.

Odd growths on thier vehicles, usually in the posterior in the form of an oversized "wing" like protuberance. Occasional swellings and Edema may difigure the entire body of the vehicle causing it to no longer resemble it's own model.

Also the body panels of the vehicle may be discolored, the marks may seem to form large japanese kanji characters, this in spite of the fact the patient has no ability to read these. Most discolorations however seem form "GT-R" even though said vehicle is not in fact, a Nissan Skyline GT-R. Possible side effects may be the need to attach very large sheets of brightly colored, self adhesive vinyl to thier vehicles.

Yet another common condition is the need to graft portions of other makes and models onto the afflicted persons own ride, commonly used parts are headlights and tail lights- generally froma more expensive vehicle such as an S2000, Supra or Skyline.

It is important to note that some or none of these symptoms may manifest themselves. The afflicted may drive a "normal" looking vehicle, or even a modified truck.

Easily cured but like most addictive diseases, requires the patient to acknowledge it is an affliction.

Reccomended course of action:
Try the track once or twice.
The rush of having a cop line up next to you with his cherries on, then race you instead of chase you is good medicine. Our police dept here participates in the therapy occasionally in hopes of stemming the epidemic.

Alright everyone, enough is enough. Pizzle made a claim that I cannot confirm nor deny, because I wasn't there. There are several factors that affect racing aside from simple power and weight. Did the HD owners screw up off the line? Did they sit there smoking for a bit while Pizzle took off? Who knows. Not me, not you. While it's theoretically hard to believe her truck could take an HD, several things can make it possible. We'll never know.

Now, next time you have a point to prove, try explaining it politely and with facts, not simply claiming she's full of ****. It's far more effective in the first place, and it makes you appear to be a much more intelligent and level-headed person. Had you read the Member guidelines that you were supposed to when you signed up, you would know that member flaming is strictly prohibited. Technically I could ban you all right now and be in the right, but I'm not going to because I can't expect you all to be decent and fair if I'm not the same.
