systems off ebay

has anyone bought a system off ebay??
it is cheap, but i dont know if im willing to trust them i was thinkin if i buy from a "dealer" it would be safer but what happens if they send me something broken or the wrong thing can i do anything?

yes, i have. but not all from one seller. i've purchased subs and box, 2 amps and i just bought a new receiver and sets of rca's.

from 1 seller im going to buy 2 subs, a deck, and an amp

have you seen the pioneer in person? i wanted that deck so bad from reading about it and seeing it in magazines. but i went to best buy to test it out and i dont like it anymore. its really fancy, but its "pointless" fancy. and theres a big gap around the face. so i ordered the panasonic cq-dfx972u. i know theres a newer model out, but i can get this one cheaper online and they changed the look a little and i dont care for it as much. but its all you, so get what you like.

thats good, im glad i could help. dont get me wrong that pioneer is a nice deck, but the only info you can get off that front face is the time, volume, and radio station. i think in the long run having a more practical HU makes more sense.

when i was at the store, i heard some guys talking about decks. and they didnt like some because of the way it opened or ejected the disk. which was the dumbest shit ive heard. the one im getting, the face just flops down. but more importantly it has mp3 playback, front/rear/sub 5v pre-outs and an overall visual ease of use.

well i want the pioneer deck that has the screensavers with mp3/wma playback cant think of the number off my head

I like the DEH-P8400 because its not flashy like a lot of them are, well until you open the face. but I haven’t been able to see one in person is it like a dull gray are a cheap looking silver, and how would it look with a black dash?

yea i hate kenwood decks they have way too many buttons and are too crowded

I got the panasonic 602U and i love it exceot for the fact that after being used for a long time it gets REALLY hot. The only problem I see with the 8400 is that when it folds down it may get in the way of some dash controls. I was thinking of getting that one before but changed my mind cause of that and the price:eek:

you have it right. its the deh-p840mp or 8400mp. they do have screen savers and wma/mp3 playback. was there any other reason you wanted to get that deck? you dont really need both wma and mp3. if you want the highest quality and small file size just encode at a high vbr. i guess we'll see what you think after you see it at the shop.

k im a little confused are u still talking about the flip down deck? or the like deh-p7400mp?

I bought a jvc head unit and 12 disc cd changer package for about 200.
There were no scratches and nothing was wrong with it.

thats great, glad you like it. it might not be a big deal to you, but it was too me. depending on what remote you want there are two models. you can get a steeringwheel remote or a small creditcard remote. the deh-p8400mp has a card remote, and the deh-p840mp has a stupid wheel remote.

so the flip down one doesnt have the cool remote it has the stupid wheel one?

both receivers look the same, and they both have the motorized dual display, its just that one is a pioneer premier(840mp) and for some reason has a wheel remote, not the card.

did you bid on one already? and which?

nah havnt bid on anything got to find a cheap 4th gen hatch before i can buy the system

You also have to look at the clarity on some of those decks if you plan to watch dvds. I have seen the Kenwood, Alpine, Eclipse, pioneer, and a cuople of cheaper brands (Haven't seen the panasonic). I like the pioneer's screen clarity the best so far but not much - especially the 6.5" compared to 7".

Also just in case you were still trying to decide - I bought two entire systems off ebay and as long as you check the sellers feedback before you bid you're ok. Look for the best deals but make sure the seller has positive feedback above 75.

the 840mp has 4 volt preamp outputs whereas the 8400mp only has 2volt preamp outputs. there's also a longer warranty. that's the only difference i can think of between the two. I have a DEH-P740MP and i love it

Personally I have the Pioneer Deh-7400mp and it works perfectly well too. I paid about 180 for it on ebay and it is an awesome deck. Now I just have to put my Subs and amp in. I have heard to get a sealed box for my 2 audiobahn 10's. I have the chrome flame series (AW1006Q I believe). And I am also wondering if the Audiobahn 2300HCT Amp is too powerful for them? Thank you very much.
