how to remover speed limiter

my car sucks i can only go 110mph on the freeway which sucks if im racing cause i'll lose. its feels like i can pull waaaaaaaaay past 110mph but stupid limeter cuts me off and it doesnt feel to good. anyone know how to take it off.

yeh i know how u feel man. WHy don't u just get it chipped? They remove the limiter for ya.

yeah you def. need to get it chipped... hehe i can out run you in my lil a6 i can nail about 135 then i hit my rev limiter grrr

The Si tranny won't spin much above the 135 mph.

he has a CR-Vtec. So the SI tranny thing doesnt apply to him.

shit, I got my car up to 125 out in the middle of nowhere on my roadtrip to colorado ... took a pic as I was slowin down.

When i blew my Si tranny, the night before, i was on the highway at 2AM and i topped out WAY over the 125 ending mark and i was on a down hil part and i knew i was going at least 135 because my boy in his benz was doing 140 and he was barely pullin away from me!!! it was so hott!!!! but i blew the tranny..... but i got a ZC tranny so its all good!

Yeh it is pretty stupid especially on stock suspension. I wouldn't mind to test out my top speed though:)

heh sorry i let ya down jason... but you just gotta wonder what your car can do at times and i enjoyed the thrill of finding out... generally the onlytime i'll do such a thing is on a wide open freeway with no one else around... and i found out my top speed through gear ratio, tire size and rpm.... the speedo only does 125... and the rex is actually pretty stable at that speed...

no i was just wondering how high i can get my baby up. and where i live theres mad imports everywhere ask frostee and cjz and you always end up seeing one on the freeway trying to fuck with you. u do that to me in my car and its on.

WOW limited at 125? Thats pretty low. I'm not braggin but my 525E limits at 155. I am goin to buy a rex pretty soon. How much is a chip for a rex? And about how high would you be able to go after bieng chipped?

I just went and got a rev/speed meter from apex'i, it takes away the limiter, and gives you rpm, speed(km/h), and track times.

It depends on what chip you want and what ecu. They usually go for between 75-150+

the rex isn't limited period... till you hit your fuel cut at 135... due to the fact you've ran well into your redline... you want a faster top speed get a dx or hf tranny... they're geared taller and will allow a higher top speed... or do some decent engine mods and the buy a chip (like was said 50-100) and then you can pull another grand out of the engine and prolly 10-15 mph...

you guys saw my pic on the first page of this thread, my car with the SOHC ZC and DX tranny was at 5500 rpm @ 115mph, still had a little while to go.

damn i would lose to all of you on the freeway:(

well that kinda depends upon what speed you start at... i'm sure you can get up to 110 from 70 a helluva lot faster than i could ever dream and by the time i do get up there you're gone, unless we are already running hella fast then i could prolly out run ya...

I bought my Mugen chipped PR3 ECU for $200 off my friend. I love it...cept the no rev limiter thing....thank god for msd :p

Hey Melt, my speed was about 120 too and tach was on about the same as yours, 5.5K...except I was on 4th gear, hehe...:D

what kinda ecu are you running with anywayz? i'm pretty sure different ecu's have different limits..... but about peeps fuckin w/ you on the freeway, i know what you mean, i love it when the stangs pull up and start revvin at me, i make them eat my dust hehehe.....

i have a cable tranny and it sure was a bitch to put in and reinforce the fron suspension.......

aww man, so you probably still had a ways to go, and coulda gotten better gas mileage once you shifted to 5th.

yeah, but I'm running a stock PR3 and I'm hitting the speed limiter too. I have a chipped PR3 that I'm selling, 5500 vtec/9500 rev limiter, give me an offer, I paid $200 for it. I'm getting my stock ecu reprogrammed instead according to dyno numbers...

im also running a stock pr3 and mine cuts off at 110mph:mad: muthafucka. im gonna get it chipped. but in about 2 months im going P28 yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhh hhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
