Just on the body, 1 can.
On the calsonic GT-R I used 1 1/4 for the whole car inside and out

I'm building the same kit exept different decals, rims, and the body is molded in green. It's the castrol Rb skyline gt-r (R-32).
I use 2 cans of spray paint on each car, is this too much?

not necessicarily. Each model is different as to the amount it takes. It depends on the colour also

My R34 V-spec II has already taken one can, and I need to buy another because of a few pieces of dust in the paint work. It also depends on what type of paint, IMO there isn't enough in the Tamiya cans but when I use other paint, 1 can can last me up to 3 models.

I started off at about 1 can per car, but I'm now down to about 1/2 a can. Since I started warming the cans before spraying I find the paint flows better and so I use less to get a good finish. Thanks to P-Man for that tip ;)

If I'm lucky I use 2 cans per car, my F-40 is on it's 3rd can and counting!

im at the stage where i use 1 can of primer for 2-3 cars and about 3/4 of a can per car which makes the can practically useless. slowly i will work my way towards the magical number of 3 per can... that would save me loads on cash... someday.

That sounds like a bit too much paint.....how much detail are you trying to cover?

I am about the same with my paint cans, but I keep that 1/4 can because you can still use it to spray small parts and the like that aren't going to require a lot of paint.

I can get 2 cars per can, but that is for the special color. But basic color I use my airbrush and depending on the car and paint I can generally get 4 cars out of the little bottle. Primer I use the automotive stuff and that last about 8-10 cars.

I'm wet sanding in between every second coat, I had it "finished" and clear coated but polished through near the wheel arches, I have repainted it, but got some dust in it .......... sort of lost intrest at the moment, but will start again soon. This car has been a mamoth project, but I want it as perfect as I can get it. The detail is still there, but it won't take much more paint!

You can strip the paint off using regular brake fluid.....then you could start from scratch....and not lose the detail....
