Aight, so we have been talking about this quite a bit in redline91's thread .... seems like we got quite a few people who would be down for a meet. I figure modesto would be a good place to have it. I have only been there once though so I need someone who lives there (h4bangin) to suggest a location.
We also need to figure out a date for this meet.

We should get something to do though, i have no ideas off the top of my head but if peeps are gonna be driving in from out of state, Haven and whoever else said they were from modesto area, we should make this worthwhile for them not just a couple hour meet, you feel me?
Anyhow to those of you that are serious about coming in from out of state you guys make the forum proud cuz thats true dedication :flash:

Just a suggestion: I feel bad for those of you who will drive over 5 hours to get to a meet then spend a couple of hours chit-chatting then have to drive back...If we can set up a meet in Sacramento speedway, then we can at least get our times at the track and everyone can have something to talk about or return back as a souvenir. Or we can have a BBQ meet or check out www.lemanskarting.com , its in Fremont, CA. we can all go racing indoors for a change. Just my .02

I dont really like the sac raceway idea that much, cause sac is kind of too far to the north of the area most of the central valley peeps are from.

It would be ideal to get a head count so we can calculate the expense and trouble of having a BBQ...Between $5-$10 each should be plenty to cover for food and drinks (non alcoholic). I'm down for a meet as long as I'm not racing the same day (Autocross season)...

Log on to http://www.sfrscca.org/index.phtml click on "join SCCA", $75 (annual fee), then the races are once a month i think that goes all over the Bay Area even as far as Utah for the finals...its $25 every race and you get 3 runs. It was a blast yesterday at the Oakland coliseum...I did pretty good considering I'm running on street tires and havent done this in 10 years...

I think I will keep practicing at my jc's parking lot late at night on the weekends before I go and do real autocross ... taking out the system all the time is getting to be a pain, but I cant think of a good method of bolting the sub box down.

make like an oversized battery tie down that you can bolt into your floor, polish it up/paint it and it would look alright i think. just something to hold your box in place. i dunno just an idea.

As long as its legal to do that, then go for it...Autocrossing is not for everyone, but once you get into it, taking your speaker box once a month wont be that bad. You can ride in my car on one of my runs if you like and see for yourself...I'm sure we can borrow a helmet for a few minutes if you dont have one.
Anyway, back to this thread, Count me in for a Modesto meet...
