Hey everyone, well since its about -20 degrees outside here, i cant
paint any cars, so I dont have much to share with you guys. But here
is something I made about 6 years ago, everything is designed, cut and
built from scratch by me. It represents a car tuning garage with 2 bays, a showroom and a lift. It was used for a presentation of a potential client wanting to erect a new facility. Anyone know where i can buy tools and stuff? I have some, but i want more. The lifts you can buy in stores cost an arm and a leg, so I made my own. What do you guys think?
questions + comments welcome.

btw NAO(New Age Outlaw) performance was the name of the store.

here it goes!: enjoy

Amazing work! Once I get more models I want to make a store diorama too! Since I want to open up my own shop at some point!

I love it! I would suggest just making your own parts still. These days there is way too much markup

That is sick, once i get better at modeling i want to make a little garage like that. Where did you get the car lift and what are the walls made of?

it looks pretty nice but here are some
suggestions.. i use to make models for class.. architecture.. blah blah

looks like you used foam core for the walls.. its pretty cool.. but then you get stuck with those foam edges. what you can do is put "wall paper" like another layer of chip board, museum board, or a texture paper, or what ever the desiered finish, or you just apply some 1/16" bass wood over it and paint it.

Professional model makers at the architecture shops uses basically plexi glass, styrene, and hot glue and paint it all at the end.

i see that your windows and garage doors are flexing, you can either use clear styrene or plexi glass and score it with your exacto knife, and paint it.

ps. that rsx looks awesome

hey man, thanks for the comments, i realize those points u made, i had to make this on deadline so i didnt have much time to perfect it. Maybe thats what i should do now. AS for the windows etc, you are looking at a model that is 6 YEARS old, so needless to say..there will be flexing.. thanks for the comments! maybe i'll make another "franchise" hehe

I did a lot of stuff like this for a Lionel train platform and had 1:24 or 1:18 die-cast cars on display. But I never did such a detailed garage. That really looks great. Nice work. :)

PorkChop, did you ever think about getting some decal paper and printing out some posters and stuff to replace the ones you have? Other than that, that is one bad*** display.

Hope to see more great work from you. I will be starting a new one now that I found out I made my walls 2 diffrent sizes that is what made it look wrong. and it was to short the cars stuck out when I filled it with accessories like a tool box and tires.

That looks cool man, I personaly dont like using foam core board, I had to use it for an architecture project in grade 7... but it looks great.

I recently bought the fujimi garage tool set, and mechanics set so that I can make my own tuning garage similar but most likely BIGGER than yours .. hehe :D
