My day just kinda took a nose dive about 20 minutes ago. A man from my church, who coincidentally happens to be the father of my gf, is in the ICU and they dont know what is wrong, and from what Ive heard, he isn't doing too well. No one but the family knows which hospital they are at and they are all AT the hospital so I dont know where to go to visit him. I really wish I could be there for my gf and her mother, as they are great people and I know the man very well. I just hope to God that he pulls out of this. There really is no point to this thread, just kinda gettin rid of my baggage, it's good to tell what's on ones mind when one is feeling a bit off.

Wow, we just got a call from the hospital and I am so relieved. Jim (my gf's dad) is a diabetic, and appearantly he has been into a little bit too much sugar which his pancreas could not keep up with in terms of insulin production, as diabetes mellitus hinders the production of insulin. so his pancreas was swollen and they also discovered pneuomonia in one of his lungs, so they are treating him heavily, but they have him stable. Once again you guys, thank you for your prayers.

no probs, man. I'm just glad that things aren't as bad as they could have been. I hope he has a speedy recovery.
On a side note, my mom is renal dietitian. She helps diabetics know what they can and can't eat.
