There is no such thing as a cheap turbo, and if you truely wanna turbo your car spend the cash and do it right.:smoker2:

hey there, :smoka: Well, cheap and turbo kits don't usually go together, neither does cheap and BMW. A decent turbo kit goes for $5000, but there's ways around that. If you learn something about how turbos work, you could go to your local junkyard and get a turbo charger from any other make of car, like from a Thunderbird turbo coupe, or one out of a Dodge Daytona, you just need to fabricate the tubing, that you can get from your local hardware and go to Midas where they'll be happy to bend the pipes into shape for you, you'll need to weld some adapters for the headers too. Take a look at how this guy home made his. :smoka:

Where there's a will there'a way, don't pay attention to people's negative comments. If you think you are capable of doing this, then you will. There's plenty of rodders on this site that will gladly guide you through every step.:smoka:

Installing a turbo is one thing.Have it work it's something else!
How do you have the westgate work at the pressure wanted?
How to control the over boost?
Is the engine pistons can stand that extra pressure ?
And never run a turbo without a fuel/air mix gauge. You can find lot of basic and advance info in mopar or dodge sites like http://www.thedodgegarage.com or Turbonetics http://208.55.223.137/

Hey!!!

I'd just like everyone to know that there are no turbo kits out on the market for the BMW 1985 OR 1984 318I on the market.
That's why I did an engine swap!!! And I called Korman Fast Bmw to ask them if they had any, they said that building a turbo kit for the 318I was too expensive and that the Turbo Kit would cost more then the car itself. So in conclusion there are no Turbo Kits for the '84 or 85 318I.

PEACE!!!!:smoker2: :grey: :sun: :bandit:
