Why are high school kids so stupid? In my school it's not so much the stupidity as it is the attitudes. Everyone thinks they are better than everyone else. I could care less, I dont view myself better than anyone (cept maybe jailbirds). All these kids put everyone else down because they dont have a lot of money, or they dont where the 'cool' clothes, or they dont drive the 'right' car. it really pisses me off that people can be so shallow. They call themselves mature, yet the get their kicks from making fun of others, it makes no sense to me. Granted Im not the perfect individual who never says anything bad or does anything to cause a stir, but I know when to act proper and when it's ok to mess around. oh well, just my $0.02

it's just their naivety(sp?).
Most teenagers usually think that way. it's just part or growing up I guess.
People want to feel good or 'cool'. To do this most of the time they have to put other people down to justify to themselves that they are better. There are a lot of adults that do it too.

Agreed. What bothers me is that people deam it as normal, and though it may be normal, it doesnt mean it is right. many problems can result from bullying another person or treating them as inferior, sadly these arent realized until it is too late.

It's just a part of growing up. (Most) people get over it by the time they finish school.

A good hard knee in the nuts will drop anyone :D
But you're right - being a victim of bullying can be very traumatic. Sadly there's a real 'pack mentality' in school. Run with the dogs or get eaten, etc. If it's any consolation, I'd bet many of your aggressors are nothing more than shallow primitives who will go on to lead shallow primitive existences - if they evolve at all. And they're merely displaying for all to see what they really represent ... their own weakness and inadequacies, often simply reflecting their own lousy disfunctional homelife/parents etc.
It's generally the deep thinkers that as a byproduct are thoughtful & considerate who prosper and enjoy genuine fullfilment in life

you dirty cheap fighter.
actually if you have problems with a kid, and your sure you could kick his ass then just challenge him. i did a few weeks ago, kid thought he was so cool and gonna kick my ass he even took his coat off and it's like 10 degrees fahrenheit out, well so to say i tried to talk him out of it no wanting to get in trouble and someoen from in a crowd yelled out that i was a pussy so it was like alright man catch this, so we stepped away from my car he pushed me i swung, and sad to say missed, ducked and came back and busted his nose, man he look like shit, i was almost sorry to see how bad his eye was, and all i had was a little red mark and i spit blood. but i dont usually have trouble, if i do not too man kids mess with me.
i watch some of my best friends make fun of a few kids and at the time i laugh but i seriously do feel bad for them so i try not to. i have a few times and can honestly say that i'll probably do it again, not thinking but later on i'll feel completely sorry about it. if a kid does make fun of you just ignore it or come back with somethin good. try not to take it to violence but truthfully, sometimes that's only thing that works.

haha.. i was waiting for someone to post something about this.
there is this on going bull about "preps" and "punks" or "goths" or whatever
definition of "prep" according to the other 2 - someone that thinks they are better than everyone else...wears "cool" clothes..carries a cell phone...has a first car given to them...makes fun of people and doesnt acknowledge (sp?) other people then their "friends"
the other 2 are the exact opposite according to them
and according to the punks and goths "" "" i am a prep in school. Yes i wear designer clothes (gap, old navy, a&f, AE, Tommy hilfiger) whatever and yes i have a cell phone..but i dont necessaraly think i am better than everyone. I mean yes i do think im better than the kids that sit there and talk about going home and smoking weed and shit ..but thats because they are doomed to hell. as i said in the teachers thread..i want to have a good life ahead of me..i want to write articles for magazines and make a living. smoking weed and getting drunk doesnt go over well with a college board or a employer...
so really i dont think im better than anyone other than the people that have to motivation in their lives. And i do have friends that arent "preps" and they dont give a shit about titles ...and people that care about what a person does or thinks about them based on looks or property is stupid

This isnt the army though, in the army that works fine, the general is a general for a reason. He worked hard to get there. And yes, I know what you meant by what you said. In life and growing up Im talking about those who think they are so much better because they have money, or parents who will buy them what they want. In an atmosphere such as highschool, I think they only thing that should really separate the students is their academic performance, not their money, or clothes or car. But, this will probably never happen in HS, simply because there are too many people who see only their own importance.

Well all High Schools have to almost be the same. At mine there was maybe 20 people I'rd consider talking too, 2680 I wouldn't even think about paying attention too.
But of course, they'll always be those people that think they are better then others, but hell they're normally the ones that turn out to be nobodies. Its the ones who sit quietly in the background that are the good people in the world.
But anyway, i've been a uni one week, and its certainly much better. Everyone seems to be able to get on much better, sure they're idiots, but they seem fewer and more spread out.
so :finger: to highschol
& :D to uni
