Hey man good find. Thought it is pretty sad we have to restore cars that are only 15 years old. :finger:

How does the site work? Do you have to get the new piece welded on and the old piece but off? Cuz that would be more expensive than just getting the rust fixed right? Lemme know if this is logical or if im still a dumbass.

well, if you take it somewhere and have it done then it's basically shooting yourself in the foot since they will probably charge an arm and a leg... however I myself have a welder and am up to the challenge of rebuilding my sedan body... basically this is how I've seen it done (I helped a guy rebuild a 65 crustang w/ more rust than the EX), ya fit it up, cut around it, and have it welded in place then you use some bondo and some glass (if necessary) to smooth it out.

easiest way to explain this, face the back of your car, use your left and right hand to figure out which side is which. never go by facing the front of the car.

The easier way is just remember it as if you were sitting in the driver seat. Driver side = left, Passenger = right.

you probably cant... but then most JY's will cut them off for ya.

how much would they charge for the cutting and the piece you think?

I did work at a JY once, I had to pull the side of a dodge caravan off so I pulled out a mobile plasma cutter and sliced it off, they wanted $200 for it and didn't charge for cutting it. Now obviously your experience could be different.

most panels have resistant spot welds on them holding them on, you could just drill out the spot welds and it will come straight off. Then all you have to do to put it back on is plug weld it back on.
I would have said to sit inthe car and the drivers side is left, but as 1PhatCX pointed out, the drivers seat isn't on the left side on JDM cars.

replacing the whole quarter panel is a lot better than sanding down the spot, or bondoing the spot, because the rust will always return that way.

so is thier a spot weld on the quarter panel of a dx and where at
Tony

look around the edges of panels, where they connect with other panels(this is not being directed at any specific panel, just body panels and such), you should, or might, see little spots that look like the metal is squeezed together, these spots are not that far apart from each other, meaning there are a lot of them.
now as for the quarter panel and the dx, i don't know for sure, haven't really got out and looked.
