Meguirs Gold Auto Wax

Has anyone had any experience using this product over decals? I'm building up the Toyota TS020, and in another thread came to the conclusion that clear coat would not be the way to go with the 1998 color scheme. So what I would like to do is use the Meguirs Scratch X abrasive creme to polish up the acrylic paint, then use the wax to seal it, and make it shine. Though it shouldn't be too shiny, hence the reason for not using the clear coat. But I'd also like to seal in the decals. I've had it suggested, that I should just apply another layer of Meguirs liquid auto wax over the decals. I see that in theory this should work. But would it ruin my decals?

Thanks,
Michael

Yeah the Scratch X is a very mild abrasive, but I still figured that it would take a few coats to get a nice finish out of it. This is my first car, usually I build military models and you really don't want shiny camouflage so you never have to worry about polishing anything. I just wanted to make sure that I wouldn't totally ruin the paint, and the decals. My guess is that the wax would seal the decals just as good as the acrylic clear coat would. Really so long as you don't use Carnueba wax I don't think it would damage, or fade the decals at all. Still curious if anyone has experimented though.

Go to a Hobby Shop and get some of the Treatment Wax it's pure Carnuba Wax and is made for models. It does a nice job of shining and sealing decals. For polishing paint try Tamiya Compound or Meguair's #3 Machine Glaze and then use #7 Show car Glaze last.
