Thoughts on recent car stereo equipment

I think I will do a series of threads on what people think is their favorite brand in the different categories .... and tell why. Does this sound like a good idea ?

that would be rule #1 .... no flaming. It's opinions, I prefer that you comment on things you have owned. I haven't purchased much equipment lately, so I don't know a lot about the new brands out there.
