I-30T vs Maxima SE

Who do you guys think would win in a race between a first-gen I-30T 5-speed or a 4th-gen Maxima SE 5-speed(maybe a 97-99 because that's when the I-30T I'm talking about was made)? I think the I-30t would have it all the way. They are mad fast (my dad has one) ,plus they got the limited slip differential.
It would be a good race, but I think the I-30T would take the Maxima

According to www.carstats.com the 97 Max 0-60 in 7.1 and the I30t 0-60 in 7.7, so basically this will come down to the drivers. If the Max driver falls asleep at the line or vice versa.
Limited slip however will help the I30t so the Max had better get a good launch with lil to no wheelspin.

those #'s are too low. me and my friend ran my car 0-60 at just over 6 seconds, but yeah it'll come down to the driver. It's like racing a gxe and an Se maxima

They made the Infiniti I30 in a 5 speed manual transmission?

yes, they did, up until the 5th gen came out...only 5% of all I's were manual equipped, so they decided to get rid of it. actually, the reason the I is slower is because of the extra couple hundred pounds it's carrying. max should win for sure, unless driver sucks

Yeah, I did forget about all the excess fat the I30T is carrying, it carries all of that weight because it's supposed to be a luxury car.
Paonessa, I was only quoting my figs from carstats.com I know that they are off on a lot of cars times but on some they are correct.
JB, emhummm, I mean Nick, sorry buddy about the name being wrong but we only address each other here by our log on name, I know why you call yourself JBL (the old speaker story thing) anyway, no one was trying to hurt your feelings.
You got a lil disrespectful and you have to remember if you come on this forum and you own a different model of car (even if it is the same brand) and you disrespect the Max (this does say Maximadriver at the top of the page) everyone is going to take a shot at you because you are behind enemy lines and trying to beat a soldier in his own backyard is not gonna happen.
Still there's no way in hell you'll be able to beat my Max, unless you go Turbo/SC/Nitrous.

it's like the 350z and the infiniti g35 sport coupe 6MT, the highest model 350z runs a 13.9 and the g35 runs a 14.2
and bk i've heard sooo many different #'s for a maxima that i only go by the numbers i've ran myself. i wasn't trying to be nasty or anything.

I know you wasn't trying to be nasty, neither was I, those numbers from carstats.com are on stock vehicles, I know you're not totally stock so your numbers will definitely be different from theirs, also I'm not certain that they use skilled drivers to Maximize<(pun intended) the Maxima's true potential.

do they specify whether it's 5 speed or not cuz i' d assume they test automatic versions considering most people buying maximas are older and wanna just chill out.

From what I see on their site they test like this on our cars:
Maxima GXE=all autos or the faster version 5spd
Maxima SE
On Altimas they=Altima-is just an auto
Altima 2002=the VQ V6 stolen from the Maxima
Altima SE=3.5 5spd
Altima 2001=2.5 5spd and any year above is the same version as long as it doesn't have any other designation behind the year, you know SE, GXE, GLE.
