Does anyone know where i can find the front strut tower bar for a 92 maxima with the DOHC engine? All i've found is the one for the SOHC.

The DOHC motor sits higher. You will want to buy yours here
www.courtesynissan.com
make sure you get the 2k2 bar.

that's true but the bars are adjustable. so all you have to do is extend the end mounting brackets a little and it should fit. but if you find a more specific application get that one

You dont understand, the 92-94 SE has a BIG motor, and will have clearance issue with ANY bar on the market, it will hit the a/c hose and rub the manifold. ALL FSTB's on the market have been tested and only one has been found to work the 2k2 Maxima's bar, cause there engine is big as well. Unless you can find the OLD Courtesy Nissan bar that was made for the VE engine itself, but they dont make them anymore and havent for a few years now.

I looked at courtesy nissan's site, and i couldn't find any 2k2 bar. I found the one for 2k-2k3. Is this the right bar?

That is it, the one with the posts going straight off the bracket, that one is perfect.

yup, if you look under the hood there is 3 strut tower nuts on each side, you take them off, put the FSTB around the bolts and put the nuts back on (so the fstb is like a big washer) torque it down to 18lbs I believe and you are done, I can put them on and take them off in less than 1 minutes very easy and the car feels alot different with them on.

Thanks! Now if i can just get my car running right I might be able to really test it out. I think my Mass Air Flow Sensor is defective, at least that's what the shop said when they checked the computer code. I have one on the way but it won't be in until next week!

check, www.maxima.org in the west coast section. There is a All Nissan Meet going on in Cypress on Feb. 15th. Should be some tight cars there.
