HID Conversion or get Factory Xenon?

I just got an 323CI..which has factory halogen lights.. I would like to convert them to HID Aftermarket lights or just get Xenon from the factory...since I heard that the aftermarket HID could cause a problem with your on board computer.. Can anyone help me with my dilemma? Thanks.
