Limousine Models ***PICS***

I was doing some cleaning today and found these two old and long forgotten projects from a few years back of some unique stretch limousines. The Caprice is based on imagination but there really is a 1:1 Impala SS limo. These pics aren't the greatest but still I thought you guys might find them interesting. If you're wondering about the peeling roof on the Caprice limo, I made the vinyl top using masking tape. I guess over the years the glue on the tape dried up..and now its all peeled. I'm debating whether I should strip these bodies and restore them...they need a lot of work....what do you guys think?

ok, the tribe has spoken! I've decided that I'm going to try and restore the white caprice first. It got a nice bath in some brake fluid last night to strip all that orange peeled and yellowed white paint. My modeling skills have much improved since I attempted that project at least 5 years ago so I guess it shouldn't come out too bad. I'll see how it comes alone and then post progress pics as I go along. When I first made the kit I didnt want to be bothered with all the interior details so I blacked out all the windows and made it a curbside. I think I'll just stick with that as it would take wy much more work that I'd like to put into it to make a full interior. Although there is a 90's Caddillac resin kit on ebay right now that includes a full interior that makes me wanna build the interior too. Too bad the kit is going for well over $100... Anyways, we'll see what happens...
NJH, the first one is made from th Revell Snaptite Caprice police car kit released in 1993. I had to use 2 bodies for the "stretch". It required a little bit of plastic surgery to combine the 2 or 3 bodies I used. The burgundy model is from the Revell Impala SS kit. It was essentially the same kit as the Caprice except that the mold was altered to convert the parts to Impala SS specific parts.

got some pics of what I've done to my new found project guys...here they are...
the first 2 pics are what the caprice looked like after I stripped the paint. I also cut off a section of the roof. I plan to splice in a new section using sheet styrene. All that red stuff is some sort of putty..I used tons of it on the now cut out section of roof, so it had to go ...I have no idea what kind it was but it sure is crappy...I put on some new putty and sanded the body and primed it which you see in the last 2 pics. Hope to have more progress pics as I go...hope you guys like...

As if an Impala couldn't be any more better you had to make some Limos, great idea! Glad to hear you are restoring them, you've given me an idea for a project now aswell. Thanks, hope to see them done sooner then later.
