Hey all i know i am prolly not wanted here due to my name (chevyfreak) but i have total and complete respect for Fords. I was just raised Chevy.:D
Anywayz getting to the point what would you guys expect a late 1980's mustang orginally with a stock 4cyl swapped out for a stock 5.0 V-8 but thats all. other than that its all stock not good condition at all. what would u expect this car's time to be in the 1/4 mile (plz be honest I am considering getting one but dont want to restore it(due to $ probs) just race it how it is)
Thanks,

Depending on transmission maybe a low 15 high 14 sec in the 1/4.

Id have to agree with this. I think 14.9 - 15.1 is probably pretty close to realistic.

With what you said it sounds like the car is a stock 4cyl save for the motor. So then I'm going to have to say mid to high 15's, even 16's shouldn't be ruled out. 4cyl have crappy gears, and no posi in the 7.5" axle! So no traction to make the car hook. The suspension will also not be enough to make the car handle like it should. You also didn't say weather it was a HO motor or just plain 5.0? That will also make a difference, as well as what tranny is in there.
