Discrepancy... help

I just got myself a Tamiya 98 Raybrig NSX. But there's quite a lot of discrepancy in this kit. From reference pics, these are the parts that are not accurate:
-Roll cage, the kit doesn't have any roll cage parts under the roof and under the A pillar
-Lights beside brake cooling ducts, some pics have them, some do not
-Gurneys on the leading edge of radiator outlet vents, kit doen't have them
-Fuel filler cap cover, the box art have it covered, but reference pics do not have them, kit also doesn't have it
-Headlight housing, black or body colour
-Body colour, info on first page of manual says that the colour should be some kind of pearl, but paint instruction is solid colours, reference pics also show solid colour
-Brake hubs, box art shows titanium gold, but painting instruction says flat aluminium

There may be others but these are the ones tht i notice first, please help.:(

Sometimes Tamiya gets the paint instructions wrong since the kit is released during the JGTC season, and the teams make changes to the car according to races that the Tamiya kit doesn't reflect.

For example, the Castrol Mugen NSX had a slightly different paint scheme for the majority of the season (side skirts were painted all Park green, not just parts, fins on front bumper were changed from black to park green) that the Tamiya kit fails to address. If paint instructions differ from real life photos, go with the photos.

Before you freak out completey, I would check to see if you can find which races your pictures are from, make sure it's from the 1998 season, and then go from them, maybe build the car as it appeared in a specific race.

Is just a model...It can't be so perfect. If it is, then it will not be 2000yen. Look at those in the ST27, Sakatsu, or other resin and metal kit, they have more accurate parts plus real photo to follow, and of course it cost more. If every model you want it to look like the same replica of the real car, then this modelling will kill you before you complete them... :devil:

For example: If you want to build a Fujimi GT40 curbside, you need these:

I think is 271 Sakatsu rivat (exterior only), Seat Rivat for both of them from Renassiance, Big rims and tires(don't which brand came out), ST27 p/e set and bonnet pin set by modeller's. Do you have any idea how much it cost just for 1 car???

So, it's just a model, and don't have to be so perfert. (unless you ready to invest big $$$ on this)

hermanchauw, seems like you got yourself quite a lot of model kits...so are you going finish them at the same time? what about your ferrari testarossa, civic, hummer?? are they finished??? because we are all looking forward to see them...keke...

Testarossa is stopped temporaily until i figure out a way to fix a chassis, maybe hybrid it with a group C chassis.
Hummer is almost finished, left the body and final assembly. It is still in primer, and still got some smoothening to do.
Civic is not started yet. I bought it because it is one rare kit that i wanted to get for a long time. Maybe i make a hybrid also, like the Estima in the Estima thread.

I think we should not build replicas, someone who like to be"tiao ti" might just say that this is not accurate, that is not accurate blah blah blah. Hmm, so what paint job will be good for the NSX?

Tamiya's Raybrig Blue is now a regular color in their spray can range. The real car is a kind of pearlescent/shifting blue and slightly deeper than the tamiya paint can. To date I believe no one has found a very accurate match for this color yet.

Modeller's did have a Raybrig color, but too bad they have fold up for quite sometime. The other brand...from Japan might also have it cause they always have special colors for models. I fogotten the brand but they do have color like the Jaguar XJR-14 and XJR-9LM, FW24 blue, etc...

Hermanchauw: Why bother how people say, as long its similiar to the real thing, that's more than enough. Money is the easy thing earn, so don't have to throw too much $$$ on 1 model. :rolleyes:

Anyway, i think it will have a road car paint job, maybe red with black or gunmetal rims.

Could that be Hobby Shop GT's Finisher's Color series?
They have Blue Purple for Raybrig, and that's what I'm gonna use.

That is he brand I said about...can't ship out from Japan. My friend help me to ask Racoon before. They even have the Mazda 787B color, right?
