sort of.
a guy at work is trying to sell his GTS-T so we were going to take some pics to put on the SDU forums forsale section, but he hadn't washed it. The camera was there, I got bored, took some photos.
but yeah hopefully it will stop people asking

The pay can be reasonable. Just not where I'm working.
The work can be very monotonous and dull.

What is that big metallic thing you make on the CNC lathe? I'm guessing it's a part for something big and mechnical. I made a shift knob on an old school lathe once, not bad for HS.

CNC is fun...
...when you get to design and mill it yourself LOL.
I'm a CNC programmer of sorts, although I only work on CNC routers, so it's all 2 dimensional, and basically, all I have to do is trace lines on the DXF files, but sometimes I mill some stuff for myself which is fun...

It is a bronze lower clutch for a mid sized marine whinch. Just 1 of many parts we make. If you have a Simpson Lawrence winch chances are we made it.
Huudo: no plastic modelling at work, place is too messy

werd, I took that class too, one of the most fun classes I've ever taken :)
I'm one of the few that knew what you meant by CNC operator :D
I made a few things in that class, a puller, an F clamp and something else. We used horizontal and vertical band saws, drill press, lathe, milling machine, horizontal drill thingy (but goes down into a pre-drilled hole, then you move the piece around on a horizontal plane to cut grooves and what not), tap and die, all that fun stuff (a frickin file too though  ) I just regret not taking welding :(

Nice Taz. So you get to play witn an Ikegai Lathe, is it a base 2 axis or will it also use live tooling? It brings back memories from years past thought I ran mostly Okuma Howa's.
I hear you about the repetative or monotonous nature of CNC operating. I was so happy to be off the shop floor after 18 years of pushing those buttons, though I do for the odd job or two.

human error is inevitable, but to stuff things up completely requires Windows98 or above.
