The back of my max sits lower than the front. What should I change the springs or shocks? I don't want to lower my car, I live in NY and the roads will kill my new Katana rims and Michlin tires. But if I am gonna change springs I had better drom it 1". But would this fis my problem? The back is noticably lower than the front and people are asking why?

Are you carrying a lot of audio equipment in the trunk?
The Maxima fenders are cut lower in the rear then the front. Look at the undercarraige line. It should be level with the road. Don't look at the fender gaps. It's just the body design that makes the rear gap look smaller then the front.
If indeed you are sagging, you can either put a new set of OEM springs in or install a set of KYB AGX shocks. Shocks don't change the ride height per say, but the gas charge in the AGX is pretty strong. You may notice a slightly better stance with them.

Thanks for the info. The only thing I have in the trunk is a 10" sub in a box. Oh I have a ful spare. But even before I got the spare it saged. More $$ to have that changed.

I've seen quite a few Maxima's that sag in the back, particularly 4th-gens. I have no idea what it is, but its not just unique to your car.
