What kind of kit do I want?

So I've been making a list of mods and such to do, been getting tons of adivce from you all, now the more specific newby questions.

So Im gonna start putting my car together, there's a big car show here every year the 2nd week of June and I think I wanna be ready for it, so Im not gonna wait till spring, Im gonna start now, my buddy has a heated garage :D

Suspension is first. I wanna lower my car, about 1.5-2''. I have a 92 Civic VX. I plan on 15'' wheels in the future, but Im runnin on the 13'' donuts for now. I also plan on a b18c or b16a swap in the future (more weight), plus there will be a front lip and side skirts in the future.

I don't really want coilovers, this is gonna be a daily driver.
So, what is a decent lowering kit, everything, springs, struts, camber kit(if necessary) for that kind of drop, those future mods, good handling (with added sway and strut bars), no hoppies, but tight enough to handle crappy ohio roads. Price range $250-$350. (I can go more if its worth it)

I ask because all the websites say their's are the best, and consumer reports and the like dont triffle themselves with lowering kits apparently. And you all have experience, round here we have cavaliers and a**holes who wouldnt know a civic from a hole in the ground.

any and all help is greatly appreciated.
thanks

I would say Shocks Koni Yellows Camber kit Progess Springs Eibach.
Why don't you want coilovers? For my Lowering I use Skunk2 coilovers and like them better them my old Progress springs (there very good too) Hope this helps

eh, I dont want coilovers because I really dont plan on racing it, and frankly just dont have the need, so I figure why spend the money. I like the idea of them and all, but I just dont need em.

I actually have since decided on Eibach ProKit springs, and Tolico Illuminas. lil more than I wanted to spend, but hey, what the hell, I can adjust the struts once the springs settle, so Im cool with that.

thanks for your feed back though.
peace.

i think that the koni's are a good start.. i'm looking into springs also at this time and i must say that it is very confusing purchase.. i would say to buy h&r springs, however with all the research i've been doing i'm hearing that hondas are infomus for having a certin sag on the drivers side.. some people say that comptech springs are the 1's to buy and comptech says that they make their springs on the drivers side a littlte stiffer to reduce that sag, yet i have'nt verified this yet..but i'm in the process of doing this also so if you hear anything about this feel free to let me know as we are in the same boat..any autocross guy might be able to help us a little..

I used Progress before i moved to my skunk2 coils i autoXed with them and was very happy. They were cheap like $120 and was a 2" drop all around. I really didn't look for a sag but it wasn't bad enough that i would see it just walking up to my car. I think Skunk2 makes just springs i bet they would be great i also keep hearing about Eibachs.
Hope this helps:coolguy:

yes Hondas are notorious for the sag, my stocks are pimp leanin all over the driver side, and Im a skinny fello so its aint me.

what about a franken suspension. say find a similar drop spring with a higher weight compresion ratio.

then what kind of difference in wieght ratio? eqaul to the drivers weight, or car equipment on the driver side?

whatcha guys think?

then, where do we find such a thing....
