Your question assumes that there is a god.The overwhelming bulk of literature relating to said deity asserts that this god is male,so I would predict that if anybody ever comes up with conclusive proof that this 'god' does exist, the chances are that he will be a guy.

I think everyone is entitled to believe in what they want. Personally I believe there is a God and that He is male, (the Bible always refers to Him as male).
People believe in what they believe for different reasons. I believe He exists because all this cannot be here by accident.

Personally, I'm an Athiest/Buddhist.
I believe that God is someone we use to describe our inner selves & someone to attribute our morals to.
In other words, God is whoever you make them to be.

I myself believe that there is a God simply because the big bang theory is too far fetched for my taste and the theory of evolution is flawed. God does IMO exist, though sexual orientation is another matter. I suppose God would be male in that in the bible God is referred to as 'he', and people praise 'his' love. Thats conclusive enough for me. But I am only one person, and therefore insignificant.

You can't see air, does that mean it is non-existant? Just a thought. And, don't worry about that grammer, its cool, I'm just as much a procrastinator as the next person, I just get pissed at myself if my sentancing isn't grammatically correct.

well its not so much seeing him
but like what has he done i know he didnt create everything
chemistry shows us that we are made of Carbon and other elements combined i know if there was a God he probably wouldnt be a chemist
i just believe that when we die we lose the ability to be aware of our consciesness(sp) and that we have no recollection of things past ,no memories no nothing just emptyness that we do not know we are in because we arent anywhere anymore

I guess this just comes down to whether or not you believe there is a god period, which it sounds like you do. There are times where I myself question my belief. I at times feel as thought God is a manifestation that was concieved years and years ago and is taught and thought of so highly because it gives hope to people that would otherwise have none.

Well, I feel that if a child is to believe in something as far as religion goes, it should be what THEY want to believe in, not their parents. That's just their parents way of controlling them. Now, Im a member of my church, but not because my parents are too, but because I want to be. They let me make my decision on what I believe which I think is a good idea for most parents to do.

but still i think most middle-older aged people want to believe there is a God and an afterlife so they won't be afraid of death
hell im not afraid of death just another part of life
im here to live life until i die who knows when it will happen tomorrow 10 years from now or maybe even 100 but until then will i change my beliefs when i see if for myself

That's nice. Me too, who knows whats to come. For now, I'm a combination of 'Live for the Moment' & 'Plan for the future'.

Some of you conclude that I believe there is a God: I don't. I am not a nihilist, but I believe in the big bang theory.

it all depends on how you define god. if you subscribe to a religion, then fine. i believe that god is the supernatural force that allows the universe, and ultimately existence, to exist. it is the thread that holds atoms together, the breath of life in humans, the bonding agent in molecules, etc...Basically 'god' is the force that holds all of the nexplicable together
