panel lines or decals: which first?

I'm doing one of the Subaru WRC and I have come to the point where I need to applythe decals and do the panel lines.

Question is, since most of the decals on this subaru go over the panel lines especially the ones around the doors, do you guys paint the panel lines first and than apply decals or vice versa (where I would apply the decal, maybe cut away the small parts over the panel lines and than go over the lines w my gundam marker)

Any advice would be welcome.

I'd say decals first then panel lines, otherwise any decals that cross the panel gaps will cover your panel lines and it might look a bit odd.

Ok, but do you paint the panel lines directly over the decals or do you cut away (w a very sharp xacto knife or sth) the thin parts of the decal that cover the panel lines.

P.S.: I've allrdy looked in other posts and examined the imprezza's in the modeling gallery but I can't really see how they did it.

Panel line first... becore the paint can go under the decal and it's horrible when you have finished your model and it's ruin becose of that...

Panel Line - Decal - Small Panel line tutch up

and you need to cut the decal.. paint won't stick on it
