Painting Bodies with Airbrush...

So i'll be trying to paint a body using a airbrush for the first time. I'm using a Iwata Revolution Double Action as i don't have a Single Action yet.

Should i be spraying with more pressure (20psi?) further back at full spray?

You say you don't have a Single Action like it's a bad thing. Your double action is far superior to any single action. :)

For spray bodies, it'll be easy to "puddle" paint in one spot, so keep it going back and forth constantly to avoid runs and drips. Try to get even coverage. For pressure, if you spray at a higher pressure it'll be easier to spray, though I don't know the exact pressures. What kind of paint are you using?

if you are painting a body and want a consistent spray you can use your double action like a single. just loosen the nuts on the needle and pull it out to desired spray pattern then tighten. Now just press trigger down but don't pull it back.

Daggerlee, i'm using Modellers Real Black. It's synthetic lacquer. I'll give it a try in a bit.. i'm going to try and clean my airbrush with some lacquer thinner first...btw, where do u get those mini pipe cleaners for the airbrush??

how much psi depends on certain airbrush, siphon feed will definately need more psi than grav feeds. but the norm is usually 35psi but find that 20psi is enough for my Iwata.
